FOM is using a steadicam for the pitlane today.

Both DC & Mark on the grid again, just as the weather throws a spanner in the works!

Shame that rain couldn't have come 15 minutes into the race not 15 before it...

It was only a very narrow line of showers so they are through, and the track will just dry out. Further showers look unlikely www.raintoday.co.uk

Looks like David was serious about finding a dry pair of trousers as he seemed to miss Ben's build-up before the grid moved off behind the Safety Car.

This is really, really embarrassing. When is Charlie due to retire?

Might as well bin the wet tyres as this sport apparently doesn't race in the rain anymore.

Interestingly it was shown at the start exactly why the safety car starts came in, Spa 97. With the abolition of T cars it means FIA want to protect these cars even more.

Channel 4 are using Mark Webber a lot.

He's offered some good insight so far and enjoyed what he has had to say.

Ben Edwards needs to stop shouting, its irritating!

Great having him in the comm box isn't it?

This 3 way commentary team Channel 4 have might work well on Sky. Croft Brundle and Davison.

Anyone know what's going on with Rosberg's watch?
It confuses me everytime we get an onboard with him. Is it a real watch, or part of his gloves?

Part of his glove, Hamilton has the same.
I think Rosberg has lost a nose cam on the right.

No. Hamilton has different gloves. It is how to tell them apart from the onboard shot.

Lewis has white gloves, Rosberg has blue with a watch on the left hand. But the watch always seems to say ten to 2!

Could you imagine this approach for the 1993 Donnington or 1976 Fuji races - 2 Hours procession behind the safety car

I've long been a fan of Ben Edwards - back to the days of CART - and would never criticise anyone if it wasn't warranted.

But there's been a steady decline in his commentaries of late - and today's was very poor indeed. It began at the very start, where he tried to explain away his mix-up between the first lap under the safety car being a formation lap (I expect because that's what was written as part of these lengthy monologues he prepares in advance for the start of the coverage and when the winner crosses the line). There were then various other mistakes during the first half of the race (admittedly fewer in the second), but what was most disappointing was him shouting all over Webber as he attempted to describe one of Rosberg's attempts at passing Verstappen, completely cutting him off. I know he sees himself and Coulthard in very different roles, but I really don't like the perception he seems to have that only he can call any overtake.

Very disappointed.

Thought Webber was a very good addition to the commentary today, wouldn't mind that again in the future.

Webber got Jordanitis doing the podium interviews though.

You'll never get "pressure" questions on the podium though, it's not the place for it.
