I've long been a fan of Ben Edwards - back to the days of CART - and would never criticise anyone if it wasn't warranted.
But there's been a steady decline in his commentaries of late - and today's was very poor indeed. It began at the very start, where he tried to explain away his mix-up between the first lap under the safety car being a formation lap (I expect because that's what was written as part of these lengthy monologues he prepares in advance for the start of the coverage and when the winner crosses the line). There were then various other mistakes during the first half of the race (admittedly fewer in the second), but what was most disappointing was him shouting all over Webber as he attempted to describe one of Rosberg's attempts at passing Verstappen, completely cutting him off. I know he sees himself and Coulthard in very different roles, but I really don't like the perception he seems to have that only he can call any overtake.
Very disappointed.
