Not F1 or motorsport related, but sky broadcasting related and I thought many of you on here may be interested in this from sky, if you have not seen the background info on how the new Beckham advert was made;

Quote:
“The advert was shot in various locations around the country, including a three-day shoot in London with Beckham in May, while 500 extras were used with snow machines and a fire engine helping to create the contrasting weather conditions.
Advertising agency Brothers and Sisters created the advertisement with a production crew of over 80.

Facts and figures about the ad;
A special rollerblading camera operator called Myron Mance was enlisted to keep up with Beckham on the run. A former pro skater, Myron is sought after for high action and sports commercials, due to his expertise at capturing movement.
The advert was filmed across East and West London, Derbyshire, Manchester/Stockport and at the Emirates Stadium.
Filming took over 70 hours, including travel between the various locations.
500 extras were used throughout the advert, including a special guest role for one dog.
A London fire engine was recruited to provide the water for a rain scene and to give Beckham a covering on an unusually warm day in May.
Teams featured in the advert include Middlesbrough, Leicester, QPR, Bournemouth, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.
80 production crew and 2 cameras were needed to capture all the scenes, including 1 mounted on a rig.

The advert, which was unveiled on Thursday, sees Beckham head off on a morning jog only to find himself running through scenes from 10 months of football, enduring changing weather conditions, celebrating with fans, dashing in and out of a pub and at one stage being chased by a dog!
Directed by award-winning Frederic Planchon, the film celebrates the unpredictability of the Premier League, never more evident than last season's incredible triumph for Leicester City.”

From what I remember when the deal was struck with the BBC it was they could not show 3 consecutive live races

2 is ok

Yep otherwise you'd have to dispense with the picking process and just go for alternating races.

Was that a Toro Rosso onboard on the World Feed?

Yes, and it wasn't shown accidently as there was more footage from it during FP2. I guess the camera is "back"...

Is this a special camera, or...?

Nice to see that FOM have made their G-Force overlay a lot easier to read, only shows a single floating circle now, and highlights the peak g-Force experienced by the driver up to that point:

What's the issue with the FIA and Torro Rosso then, have I missed the latest falling out?

There's no real issue (certainly not one that we're aware of, AFAIK), it just hasn't been shown since (I think) Australia.

More like a conspiracy theory/long running joke of the F1 forum here and a few other forums too!

I almost passed out when i saw the footage!!
Personally i think the director told the vision mixer one shot but he said "naw bruv" and let his finger slip

Is there no Ant this weekend?
Di Resta is ok most of the time, but he does have a tendancy to just witter on too much sometimes and it feels we are just missing that little extra when Ant is not there.

Ant is racing in the WEC this weekend...

Sky Sports is not simulcasting qualifying build-up on SS1 at the moment because the International Champions Cup match has gone to penalties. Should be on SS1 soon.

EDIT: They have joined coverage now.

Looks like this is about to be Channel 4's first experience of a session delay during a live programme. I see they have Channel 4 Racing scheduled for 2:30pm...

They have pushed horse racing to More4 when the F1 clashes so I can't see the problem of moving the moving the coverage, it's lucky the Athletes finish at 2:15pm on More4.

Sky Sports 1 simulcast may have the same problem...

There's no live action on that channel until 5pm so I don't think they will be affected, plus I don't see qualifying going over 5pm anyway, if it did then I expect SS1 viewers would have to switch to SSF1 as they will have International Champions Cup action live between Celtic and Leicester.

Whats the record for number of red flags in a Q session.. We have to be close?

Well I guess this is what happens when you never usually allow the drivers out at racing speed when it's wet. Let's hope we get Q2/3 in before sundown
