NOW, Regarding the song used as theme music. A MUCH better song would be... Joni Mitchell- Why Do You Dream Flat Tyres" Jp |

And possibly the 8 additional Onboard Feeds
Anyone remember the ITV feature Martin Brundle's F1 driving school from 1999? http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3s...g-school_sport He did some good stuff like that on ITV, Features that were actually informative rather than a lot of what he's done on BBC/Sky that have basically boiled down to him driving an F1 car having fun for a 5 minute segment. If your going to put him or anyone else from the Sky team in an F1 car then make it more than 'look he's back in an F1 car & having fun'. And the Front Runner video 1990/1990 F1 reviews: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3s...t-runner_sport http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3s...t-runner_sport Eurosport's 1996 CART Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om3ZT24TbpM |

Was there not a suggestion a few months ago that FOM would be able to get more than that this year?

Its not coming to Android anytime soon, on either the Sky sports app or Sky Go app.
I'm on the iOS and Android sky sports/sky go beta trials and we have asked the question many times.of the Dev team and they just say its not in any plans. Android, as I know to well can be a headache to code/develop with such things with its myriad of devices. That is their starter for ten stumbling block. Guess i'll have to make do with the crap SD streams on Sky |

FOM could do with updating the on-car camera mounting positions to give us some better and more imaginative angles. They have the power to mandate certain areas and insist on them being used for onboard placement.
The only real innovation we have seen since 2012 has been the hideous rise of CGI advertising which has come to dominate a significant chunk of the trackside camera placements. No surprise that this is directly linked to their ad revenue strategy. It's deeply depressing, but that's the state of things. I only see things changing if Formula 1 comes under ownership of an organisation interested in long term growth, not just short term profit extraction. |

I mean if you're worried about: "ooh the transparency of the CGI logo is different to the real, painted one" then you have issues IMO. |

Why does anyone still bother with this guy?! Have issues? This is a broadcasting thread, those overlays are terrible and distract from the race, especially on panning shots. Also I don't care for whatever message the benevolent F1 dictator has for us.

The sky sport iPad app is tied in with sky go and the sky id, so can determine what single channels you have access to. I have this morning asked for clarification on this from the Sky New Media team (eg: apps/sky go) that I have access to and will report back hear with their response. |

New video on F1 Access (free & probs on YouTube too), has an interesting onboard angle of Senna at Monaco (I think) for a few secs. Never seen that before: http://i.imgur.com/dvuhwPE.png

It was an angle used a few times during 1990, Berger had this view during the '90 Italian GP

Not really because the onboard camera locations are laid down in the FIA technical regulations. There is not much FOM can do to be honest. They can ask the teams for sure but it all depends on the goodwill of the teams quite frankly.

Its a shame that FOM don't utilise these angles "written into the rules" more often, Cockpit facing and mirror cam - lucky if they use it once every two years, nose-cams - only recently started getting some regular use again after years of a "once in a blue moon" approach, cockpit side cams - mostly fitted exclusively to the Ferrari's and Merc's the last few years, helmet cam, 180 cam, thermal cam, not used anywhere near as often as they could. A far far cry from the late 90's - early '00's when all angles were run regularly alternating on different cars from event to event for great variety.

Schumacher had that angle in his car in 1995 at Monaco & Germany. It was used a few times on Gerhard Berger & Ukyo Katayama's car in 1997, Heikki Kovalainen had it for the final few races of 2007 & it was used on Webber & Alonso's car in early 2008. Last time I recall seeing it was on Vettel's car during the 2010 German Gp. |

You need either the HD (legacy) pack or the full Sports 1 and 2 Pack to access the service on Sky Sports for iPad.
