Honestly, I expect Liberty are wondering wtf FOM have been playing at not doing stuff like this up to now.

It does look like there will be some genuinely new footage in there as the races outlined have not been covered in any great detail on their YouTube channel. Edit - No listing for it on Amazon yet |

Would not buy a dvd, ditched that piece of creaking hardware many years ago. About time they got into the modern world and created an online version like for Google Play, Sky Store, iTunes etc. I would rent it for a few pounds like I do for plenty of similar Movies and progs, or maybe buy for a fiver. Would be a good opportunity for Sky also to buy some of their older content and put on Sky F1. |

So, Karun and Tony carried the session until about 15 minutes to go when Ben arrived, apparently they did want to do a live link up but had signal problems.

Woah! Giant Lizard on the track.
Although I always hate it when they show the drivers sitting in their cars in the pits,it was great to see the reactions of Rosberg and Verstappen to the Lizard. |

I know for a fact that FOM have remastered/digitised the old season reviews as if you look at some of the clips on their website, they match the reviews shot-for-shot at times, just minus commentary. So i'm surprised that they haven't stuck the VHS ones on DVD at least...
But yes, F1 how it was... but not before 1981 ![]() One assumes the blu-ray will be standards-converted (on the orders of Duke, so they can sell a single version worldwide) to 30i from the original 25i that they'd FOM probably master the finished program at. I wonder if FOM will release an edited version for TV? But even so it's nice to see this kind of stuff finally.... I hope the interviews etc. are extensive and not just like 2 mins per race... And im a sucker for quality so i'm glad it's being released on Blu-Ray and not awful compressed streaming from itunes or Duke |

Why are their videos so expensive?

Blu-Ray & streaming are different cos at least that's HD. |

People trot out this old line of "Oh F1 should do more on Social Media", as if it's 2 years ago... Ever since FOM's twitter account sprang to life back in Singapore 2014, it's been non-stop emojis on my twitter timeline & trust me, the kids love that.
I don't see what more they can do on Twitter. They have Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Instagram now. What more do we want? |

Bloody hell, I would never imagine me seeing a massive virtual Rolex clock on the eye, that's probably the biggest virtual graphic from FOM I've seen.

Take a look at MotoGP's social media for a guide at how to get it right.
Seriously though, apart from that, I can't see any other differences. |

I don't see what more they can do on Twitter. They have Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Instagram now. What more do we want? Most of the stuff on social media for me is just trawling through a lot of dumbing down and utter nonsense that I have seen for Motorsport and F1. I do see a lot of social media across the board (but do not partake, here in a looser extent excepted), as I sit in social media meetings as part of my IT Consultancy role, all a very dull and regrettable side of my time/job but a need for integration or assessing 3rd parties progress or to bring in at cost for a client. Luckily I manage in my team two very good young graduates who are a great sidekick for me in this area, so use plenty of controlled delegation. It is a big avenue I agree that F1 do need to make better use of, of course. There are a lot of very high level techniques from 3rd party companies that really offer some interesting tools, ideas, help and stats around social media for some markets and genres, that I must admit has shown to be helpful for many markets/industries. But from what I keep hearing lately, the Kids are not watching or engaging with F1 on mass in traditional ways or on social media. Not sure if social media will help them on board in the future. The recent interviews from Jenson and others the last week or so have all mentioned this too. Certainly know that all the youngsters in my and wider teams that I manage and deal with, there are no youngsters under 25 or so interested in Motorsport or a lot of Sport saying that. The only exception being football. The new owners will obviously use a lot of their other sporting experience to try and up the game for it, they cannot make it any worse. |

How many shots of that do you expect during the race coverage - I'm going for 4 including 1 just before or just after the official World feed start at 5 mins to Green light.
I do hate digitalised advertising. I like it when cars run over the top of the ones they place over tarmacked run-off areas, exposing the fact that it's not really there for anyone who didn't already know any better. That's just another of the many reasons not to have large run-off areas at other tracks... |

The Belgium GP I actually watched on CH4. The commentry was so much better because they concentrated on the action.
A good example of the deficiencies of Crofty ans Brundle was the mistakes in Hamiltons finalQ3 lap. These were shown live and obvious losses of time. Yet the sky team are at a lossto explain what happened until the replays. Brundle finally wakes up to what he is seeing. There is on way MB should not be better equip to notice where lap time is going than I but he is just not paying attention. |

Strange thing is Brundle waited until Crofty had stopped speaking to say that Hamilton went wide in turn 1/2. Maybe he was told it in his ear. I don't know what either of them were looking at at the time. It was clear as day that Hamilton had made a mistake right at the start of the lap. Surely if he had noticed at the time then he would have interrupted. Even more strange is that we saw him make another mistake a few corners later (the bit where the sparks flew up) and they didn't comment on that either! Brundle said later in the lap that he had had a poor middle sector and when they showed a replay of Hamilton's second error he said "oh, no wonder he had a poor middle sector!" when we had already seen it! Very odd. |
