Was Eurosport ever FTA in the UK? I remember it being on Freeview years ago, but I thought it was encrypted as part of the Top-Up TV Pay packge?

They already have Quest which is FTA & they have already been putting some of there programming on there (WEC for instance).


I seem to recall it been FTA on analog Satellite back in the 90s & it came as part of the standard Birmingham Cable package I had up until 2003 (Had to pay extra to get Sky sports).

...because JB Perrette is head of non-US channels for Discovery Networks. And while that remit will include Eurosport in the UK, it also covers Eurosport in every other country where Eurosport broadcasts, and all of Discovery's other channels in every other country.

So this quote has nothing to do with Eurosport UK, and very little to do with Eurosport at all.

While Sky were deciding to show Vettel & Rosberg's laps from 3 minutes ago which they missed during the ad-break, They missed the live shot of Kvyat's car filling the STR garage full of smoke.

Showing the replay of Vettel running over the kerb at Degnar 2 was fine but showing the rest of the laps & staying 3 minutes behind for a bit was completely pointless & ended up missing something that was far more interesting.

Can someone please turn up the mic volume for the Principal's conference.

On Hamilton's antics this weekend, sad to see him do that in the Drivers conference. I enjoy the drivers press conference and the principals one and it is always a good view for me. I really do not want fan questions, just think how awful the f1 show and he sky football coverage last year was when we had that.
I normally just ignore most of the interviews with drivers, just find that one of the dullest parts of the f1 broadcasting. But do like listening to Max, despite his age that many make so much of all the time, he always offers something interesting and for me is a very professional and sensible young man.
Anyone know of any longer interviews this year with Max, would be good to see them?

Lee McKenzie has interviewed him a couple of times for C4. They might be on the website (although I can't find any myself.)

Hmm, it baffled both C4 & BBC commentary duos, But Karun was able to provide the explanation quickly enough someone called @Amit_Mandalia tweeted it to Auntie.

When does the drivers briefing actually take place? I thought it was Friday morning before FP1? If so then it's a shame we've seen/heard nothing from it yet.

I think I overheard Crofty say that it was normally after FP2 when him and Ant discussed whether it was a good idea to broadcast it. Although I may well be wrong...it was dark and I was still half-asleep

Drivers Briefing usually happens on Friday evening after all the track running has finished.

Ant was fairly down on it been broadcast as he said that most of the time not much actually happens in them.

That piece with Damon Hill & Adrian Newey looking back at the 1996 season feels like it should be more than the short 2 piece pre-quali/race feature that its going to be.

Have to say though that I've felt the same about quite a few of these short pre-race features that Sky have shown over the past few years. A lot of them really could/should be full programs or at the very least be put online in a full or extended forms.

The two practice session and qualy sessions from 1am Sunday, live on youtube and the official app.
Shame it overlaps on Sunday with the end of the F1..

Most get put on sky catchup, all last weeks for Malaysia are up there.
Via your sky box, Homepage>Sports>Formula 1, choose the All tab.
Lots too that get put on the sky sports iPad app over the weekend.
Also appear in the sky Q box sports app area.

None of them are extended/full length though which is the point stefmeister is making.

The ones I have been watching are not cut down from TV and some have been longer, like that Bernie interview and the Williams one from a few weeks back.
Must admit though they do not all stay up there forever. Some just for a week or so, which is annoying, but probably FOM demanding that.

Looks like we are going to see a revamped Formula E world feed graphics going by the latest YouTube videos they have posted. New intro as well, more of real cars, less of CGI.

NEWSFLASH: there are people in the stands wearing hats and cute kids wearing merchandise. More updates to come every 2 or 3 minutes.

Agree, it is happening a lot this weekend showing the crowd and the nobodies in the pits watching a screen or looking bored.

Presumably C4 won't be airing that piece of team radio in the highlights...
