Always interested in the Tesla battery cars and their performance and autopilot modes.
Really enjoyed the Twit network boss Leo driving and reviewing his Tesla yesterday.
Never knew the cars could be so powerful but only for short times and they are not so auto as we think.
Formula e, if it is helping with the technology has a long way to go it seems.

Forward to 32:50 in the video

The onboards have looked great all season IMHO!”

Agree, it was awful
What is worse is they are putting up names of them too, as if we care.
Pete got carried away with his lens too with Lindsey Vonn in Ted's notebook. Nice but was a bit OTT.

Not necessarily. Sky Germany started to broadcast Bundesliga matches in UHD a short while ago and are downscaling the UHD feed to HD for the normal HD channels. The dowsncale is pretty bad to be honest. There are a lot of artefacts, horrible antialiasing and moire pattern. I'm not really keen on that.

“I remember saying back during the Malaysian GP weekend that I thought the image looked sharper & colors more vibrant & I have noticed the same at Suzuka & this weekend so something seems to have changed either at FOM or Sky.”

I think the colors look quite dull this weekend.

Something has definitely happened. We also suffered through the last two races with irrelevant cuts to the pits to show us celebrities, or engineers reacting to things we couldn't see. Infuriating. I'd love to see the data to back up why they continue to do this.

On a related note I see Jenson has said he'd support shorter races because apparently the younger generation have too short an attention span to watch an F1 race for a whole 90 minutes. I usually agree with Jenson but not on this occasion. No point hastening our descent into Idiocracy

If JB is going to do some rallycross next year, he'll be pleased to know shorter races are guaranteed.

Sky here are doing the same and it seems to make the HD picture better

Oh dear a big phone drop to the floor at the beginning of Ted's qualy notebook, when Lewis PR girl dropped her phone.
Noone around her and Lewis seemed to care, even her, the entourage were all just hustling after autographs.

On that why are these PR girls recording all the drivers, is it for some sort of legal comeback?

They're normally used for the interview write up on each team's website. I guess it's a lot easier recording the interview than trying to scribble it down.

Two firsts for WRC coming up. Channel 5 is showing live coverage of the Wales Rally GB power stage next Sunday at 11:50am-1:10pm with extra presentation coming from Matthew Lorenzo and Nicky Grist. (Who used to be Colin McRae's co-driver)

Secondly, BT Sport is showing the Wales Raly GB powerstage in 4K on their 4K UHD Channel.

I don't remember any live stages ever shown on one of the main channels ever so correct me if I'm wrong?

BBC, Channel 4 and ITV all showed live stages.

However... That horse bolted quite a while ago and is on an exponential gallop that will only get faster.

Not a good time to be a young person.

I didn't see this but during Super Sunday after Chelsea V Man United finished, David Jones did a live-link up to Martin Brundle before 6:30pm. Nice bit of self-promotion there and not really surprising considering it's being simulcast on Sky Sports 1.

Good section on the starts from Paul Diresta.

The small interview with Lauda about James Hunt was very well done and very touching words from a great friend.
Shame some of today's drivers don't show the same towards their fellow drivers, it showed how quickly friends can be lost in this dangerous sport.
Well done Sky and Nikki Lauda.

Great anthem today.

Funny Venus Williams blanking Brundle.

Here's a list of people I don't care about in an F1 context.

Gerard Butler
Venus Williams
Lindsey Vonn

Bored seeing them

Quite like Sainz optimistically being included in the "Battle for first" graphic, being 35+ seconds behind 5th place

Podium interviews a predictable car crash. Did FOM also give us a replay of a towel today as well?

Did Butler swear? Surely that's enough to end these stupid "celeb" podium interviews and return to proper pros at the job?

He lost me as soon as he didn't run onto the podium shouting "THIS IS SPARTAAAAA!"

I was half-surprised they didn't get him in a podium-interview tag-team with Venus Williams. If she enjoyed her trip to the USGP, she hid it well. She looked bored from the (many) shots of her.

Sky left the pit lane channel running until 30 minutes after the race at Japan which was a great addition as it featured the press conference and FOM highlights package. Unfortunately they have cut it off after the podium today as usual. Hopefully they keep it running well after the podium in future.

Yep!
When Ricciardo was pepping the shoey, and talking to Hamilton off-mic, he very loudly said F*** in reaction!
Ive watched it back 10 times as i find that rather comical but i agree, these celeb-podium interviews have to stop!
Get proper folks doing it, Like DC or Brundle, Webber etc!

Can someone explain to me how - during the VSC - Nico can come into the pit lane in 3rd, change his tyres and get back on track (being stuck behind a manor!) in 2nd, with Riccardo NOT noticing until halfway round the track??

Anyone else think Jeff Gordon should've done the interviews? Would've been a good F1/NASCAR crossover.

I see Sky pushed back the Zanardi features to next weekend. Should be worth a watch.

I think we all agree on that.
You missed Taylor Swift. Crofty seemed a bit obsessed with her name. Heard of her, but means nothing to me.

Podium was just a celeb joke too.
