I've actually had my motivation to watch F1 this year fade for the first time in my life, and it's due to the damn VSC
Think about Sunday, if they'd used a proper Safety Car instead of this VSC nonsense, it might have allowed Ricciardo into second, but you'd have Rosberg behind Danny on better tyres so at least there'd be a bit of interest left in the restart
As it was Mercedes got a free pit stop and the gaps between the top 3 were extended to at least 6 seconds between them all-where's the entertainment value in that
I don't give a damn about fairness, but VSC ruins the entertainment value of these races
At least in the old days the cars would be left nose to tail ready for an exciting restart at the start finish, now the VSC just ends and it's a little bit random why some cars accelerate quicker than others (Like COTA last year where Nico made a place up just before the official restart and was never penalised)
F1 debates endlessly about how it can make the sport more exciting, but then brings in measures that are proven to make the sport so much less exciting.
(Plus, as a marshal, I'd much prefer going out to deal with an incident with cars on the other side of the track away from me rather than have to tidy up with the cars passing by with one eye on the delta readout on their cars instead of passing by safely)
VSC: as unfair as the SC in its own way, without the side effect entertainment bonus after it is over. Rubbish.

I don't understand why everyone says this season is so bad! We've got 3 races left to go, the drivers championship is still alive, and there's ben some cracking racing right up & down the field.
