Nice quote from K-Mag there

Between that, Vettel's team radio meltdown and Verstappen's post-Mexico comments about him, these guys are starting to look like personalities, which makes a bit of a change.

So what has Ben Constanduros said/done to get him fired from anything Discovery has a stake in (WTCC, Formula E etc.)?

Ever since the Thursday drivers press conference was branded boring and the whole Hamilton Snapchat furore, there has never been a dull moment in one since.

This time - Lewis and Nico in the same conference, Vettel and Verstappen sitting next to each other after the events in Mexico, and Charlie Whiting being introduced half-way through to talk about the incidents in the previous race. Interestingly, they showed footage of the Vettel-Ricciardo incident from one of the track CCTV cameras.

Massa has a bit of a retro shoulder cam on his car today. I'm sure Stef will have a screenshot. Can't remember the last time seeing that.

On A Williams would be this year at Austria when it was on Bottas' car

Full lap from Massa's car today:

Williams have the mounting point for that camera far lower & further back than other teams do & have for a few years now. Most teams have it on the roll structure not far below the T-cam but Williams have it lower & on the engine cover.

Shot from the Force India is similar to the Williams, Perez at USA:

Kinda like the new low angle FOM added to the exit of turn 12. It gives a good indication of the elevation change there.

Ross Brawn has also been on 5live plugging his book. Tom Clarkson & Andrew Benson got a fascinating interview out of him about his career and it's been uploaded as a podcast.

Ron Dennis set to leave McLaren next week. According to Autosport he tried to launch a last ditch takeover bid but was ousted by Mansour Ojjeh & others as a result. Massive news, but I bet it'll only be a footnote in the F1 coverage... I wonder if the cars will no longer be called MP4, given Project Four was Ron Dennis's team before they merged with McLaren? And it still doesn't say whether Ron is leaving the roadcar side as well... Although if I'm reading correctly, he's been ousted from McLaren entirely. Could one say the ramping up of their roadcar stuff from 2010 onwards was one cause for McLaren's F1 struggles?

Sky Sports News had quite a few reports about that last night.
BuT all ended with 'no comment'.
Whitmarsh started the decline in my view and Ron has just not been able to recover McLaren from that. Too many other teams have overtaken them.
Just feel from reading that Ron seemed to have ended on the wrong side of his fellow McLaren shareholders.
It is odd with the lack of sponsorship deals over the last few years that something is not right at McLaren.
I'm sure we will hear some more over this weekend.

See Martin Haven is continuing his commentating on Formula E this weekend, thought it was just a one off for him.
Another enjoyable Chat E too.

At least someone is committed to improving the camera angles:

https://www.autosport.com/news/repor...-fans-to-watch

Quote:
“"I need to get up to speed with technology and improve my skills with that joystick [that controls the camera] now, which seems very, very sensitive," said Alonso.

"They told me over the radio they would broadcast from that camera [Sergio] Perez arriving, so I tried to find Perez, but I found the sky and the asphalt instead, but not Perez!

"I feel very bad about my poor performance with the camera. I am thinking of going back later on to have some practice with that camera with the Porsche Cup in case tomorrow I stop again.”

Looks like were only getting 3 red button feeds today (Pit Lane, Timing & OnBoard-Mix).
https://flic.kr/p/NXev51

Oddly however the 2 additional OnBoard feeds seem to actually still be there, You just can't access them with a Sky box.

On that point, Throughout a lot of this year Sky have had a hidden option 7 quad-screen layout that cannot be seen on a Sky box.

If it's live on the transponder it's odd that they don't make it select-able on a Sky box.

Ever wondered why Williams prefer to be featured on Channel 4 than on Sky?

Remember also Sky Q has split screen and all the iPad race control options.
Sky+hd red button is limited to what it can provide.

Shame yet again that McLaren has devolved into yet another power struggle!
This is what happens when people own chinks of companies and want power. I feel for the F1 team but they need to get their shit together and act their age, not like kids in a shop fighting over who gets the most of a fiver for sweets!!

Sky F1 buildup is dismal as usual. More interested in VT's of nothing important! *sigh!!!!!*

I found today that if you open the Formula E youtube live stream whilst it is not geo blocked (I opened it during FP2), that it will keep working as long as you keep it open and playing in the back ground as they don't start and stop the stream after each session.

At best it will be a simple DVD copy of the VHS version, but I bet they'll just be 1 hour edits of the VHS version. This is FOM we are talking about. Any ideas of extra content from these past years...dream on

Why will they be 1 hour edits of the existing VHS version? What precedent do FOM have for that?

Seriously, the reviews at full length would comfortably fit on a DVD, no reason for them to edit... (except for rights reasons if they've used commercial music etc.) Why would they waste time cutting bits out of the original review unneccesarily when they can slap the existing VHS cut straight onto disc?

Some awesome shots of Rosberg on a potential pole-position lap, so FOM cut away right in the middle of the most tense part to Wolff and Lauda staring at a ******* monitor that we can't even see. I despise this kind of TV direction
