Massa is talking to Sky Italia about being a pundit there for 5/6 races on 2017.

http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns35407.html
I wonder if Sky will try to persuade Rosberg to attend a few races as a pundit? The kudos of having the current world champion as a pundit is pretty high... plus they could use him across Sky UK, Deutschland and Italia as he's fluent in all three languages (that's three more then Johnny Herbert).

Only the European rounds as the it is the travelling and being away from his new family which is thought to be a big factor in his decision.

Sky are showing a whole day of Nico's 2016 wins from tomorrow under the title 'Farewell Nico'.

Imagine the fawning over him by Herbert and Lazenby. It would be enough to make puke like you'd had 10 pints and a dodgy curry

Autosport Awards live stream. Looks like they're only streaming the 2nd half of the show or something, they've already announced a few awards: https://youtu.be/grfQsU0QQ-E

It's on Motors TV too, if folk are interested (rather than the Monza Rally Show highlights purportedly being shown according to the EPG).

Toto Wolff on Sky Sports News this morning being interviewed says he wants Alonso, even though he is in a contract.
Also mentioned that McLaren insisting that Alonso is staying put.

Cant see it happening, cost too much. Bottas, with Wehrlein going to Williams more likely.

McLaren do need the money, so if they can get rid of Alonso (and hire a much cheaper driver) with Mercedes paying the exit fee, then I can see that happening tbh.

Incredible if Alonso doesn't have a release clause in his contract.

Been pretty on top of everything this year, right up to bikes via BBC Northern Ireland on SKY.
Just driving along behind a Nissan Leaf in traffic this evening and a thought came from nowhere. I forgot all about Formula e. Never missed it on ITV, couldn't find it on All4 catch-up. Now realise its on C5.
...erm...think they need to promote it a bit more*.

Unless its just me.

Speaking of Formula E, During there last race they introduced a new HUD style display as part of the telemetry graphics which I can't say i'm a fan of:
https://youtu.be/kDu8qGCCu-I?t=33m56s

The info/data they put up is fine but I don't like the tint they put over the entire screen. Also don't like how the G-force is displayed by a bar with no indication of how much G there hitting or what direction it is.

Honda pay his salary, all $40m of it.

See above.

No chance does Alonso go to Merc. I really hope Merc go for Bottas. He is a driver with serious credentials and is someone that will give Hamilton a proper fight but not be dirty about it, which is what was a big issue with this season was. The underhand tactics etc.
Plus, Alonso isn't worth 40m dollars a year. Fact!

Feel for Hulkenberg. Another big drive has kinda slipped by his side due to bad timings.

There's fresh rumours that the Liberty take-over may not go ahead. It's all now pending on a vote from Liberty's shareholders on January the 17th apparently.

Autosport (and I know, it's Autosport) says

The planned purchase of Formula 1 by Liberty Media will move to its next stage when the American company's shareholders meet to vote on the deal next month.
which is very much reading NOT particularly like there's an element of peril about the whole thing.

Also, I'm just catching up on SSF1's "F1 Special: Nico The Brave". What day was this first broadcast on? Also, surprised how hostile they towards/about Rosberg, bizarre.

ESPN F1 have said this:
Over the past few weeks there have been some reports suggesting the takeover may not go ahead, though the company has now scheduled a special meeting of shareholders for January 17 to vote on the acquisition. If the vote goes through and the sale is signed off by anti-trust authorities, Liberty will take the controlling interest and rename itself the Formula One Group.
