Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen
Cheez-It 355 At The Glen

I can just imagine Brundle having to refer to the British Grand Prix with any of those titles... he'd be utterly furious

Oh stop it, my sides can't take any more

There's very little detail there so they're excitingly vague and only vaguely exciting.

I'm not sure it's surprising that anyone would want to "draw more fans to the sport around the world, lift television ratings and increase commercial revenues." Well, indeed. The only interesting thing there is someone agreeing that whatever the sport was doing before wasn't doing it very well.

A marketing department probably can't hurt, though I hope there is more to the "promoting team/driver rivalries" aspect than just e.g. asking inflammatory questions in press conferences.

I just feel that while that approach may work in sponsorship-central america, in Europe i think it would make the championship look cheap & gimmicky. I hope they don't drive up US visibility at the expense of european support.

But yeah, their other plans sound cool, especially if that includes broadcasting the ancillary events, shows concerts etc. online as well as for fans at the track.

BBC Sport readers have voted for their Greatest One-Time F1 Champion. Go on, guess who it is. In fact, it's not surprising who the top three are...

I liked the viewers poll that had Hamilton simultaneously as the best driver and 4th most disappointing driver of 2016.

I really couldn't care less about any sort of additional festivities over a week/weekend or telling stories about rivalries over a season or whatever as none of that is why I watch.

The only thing I care about is watching the cars out on track & any rivalries during the season will be told on the track.

All track action will be in 4K on Sky Q this coming season.

Yup. It won't be a unique feed though (otherwise you'd need a dedicated 2nd crew, separate commentators etc. etc. would cost too much), so the HD & SD feeds will be downscales of the 4k feed - which is slowly becoming the norm now for 4k sports production.

Is every session going to be in UHD? I know the race will be but Sky haven't made it clear whether every session is going to be in UHD, I can't see why it wouldn't be...

Do we know if any other broadcasters will be taking the 4k feed?

http://www.skysports.com/football/ne...-and-much-more

For Sky Q users, there will be an extra treat, with all of the F1 2017 track action shown in stunning Ultra HD for the first time.

So does that mean UHD is a red button type service? Will it be recordable/pause-able etc or do you have to be watching live to get it? (Don't have a UHD set or Sky Q myself, just curious what they're doing)

It will be delivered just like the UHD football is now. Which works great.
Yes, recordable and you will also see a 'red button type' popup when it is available to view in UHD live.

Don't they already have extra festivities, concerts etc at many F1 events. Wouldn't it just be an extension of that.

I'm certainly looking forward to the Real Pork Scratchings Silverstone Grand Prix in association with Nobby's Nuts...
How about the "Sky is great, but Virgin and BT suck British Grand Prix"
