I would watch it if it was on iRacing with wheels, not ****ing Forza with bloody gamepads...

Do you mean this;
https://youtu.be/dJSLeSMm7XE

Best bits for me was that Nicki Shields did a great job as always and keeping it professional and not dumbing it down as so often happens with games. Despite her Senna name slip up haha!
Also liked the commentary from Karun.
Senna and Prost sitting with a wheel and pedals I can watch.
As for the gamers with a joystick, how dull.

Not able to read it as i'm not a subscriber but Autosport have a feature up where they ask F1 experts what they would like to see Channel 4 do with the coverage.

Brief summary:

Claire Williams - More behind the scenes with the personalities (unsung heroes)
Murray Walker - Tyre choices unhelpful for the viewer, needs to be simplified
Sir Jackie Stewart - Features comparing F1 and road car (relevance); behind the scenes (motor homes, team offices)
David Coulthard - Use "TV, apps and social media together" to inform/entertain
Lawrence Barretto - Behind the scenes, balance between sporting vs human

Interesting ideas, here's why I want:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5: More technical analysis
4: Reading tweets, fan comments during race/pre-show
3: Show Track Parade live (And I mean live)
2: Coverage done in a Studio
1: 2 hour highlights for Sky-only races
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On another on WRC coverage this weekend on Motors TV I thought it was fine although the start of the Day 2 highlights show felt rushed and they didn't go through the stage details or the standings like they normally did. I wonder how this compared to the shows aired on BT Sport/WRC+?

And yes highlights of all 3 days of the Rally Monte Carlo is on tonight at 7pm on the new home of Channel 5, just an hour now!!!

Why you want the coverage to be done from a studio?

It makes it feel very detatched from the event itself.

Sorry to be negative, but the last thing I want is more tweets read out. Especially live and without someone editing out the dross.

I think what they C4 could do for their coverage is not bring a studio for highlights races so they can present from Pit Lane/Paddock for Qualifying and the Race.

However for their live races what they could do is present from the Studio for Practice and Post Qualifying/Race with Pre Qualifying/Race done in the Paddock/Pit Lane.

I'm actually going to disagree as to me it adds opinion and extra chat which leads to fascinating answers.

PS: It's fine to be negative, you have a right to your opinion so don't worry about being negative, it's your say and you have your personal answers

Second that, it adds nothing to the live racing and to be honest just distracts and takes up valuable broadcasing time and space on screen.
If people want to read the tweets or social media the should do it on their own phones/tablets. Broadcasters should not force it on viewers who dont care for it.

Using tweets as a way to ask genuine questions during pre/post-race I don't mind, so long as someone's filtering them.

But reading out a string of "#Hamilton to win LOL" would be immensely irritating and pointless.

So it depends entirely what they would do with them.

You have an iPad don't you?
If you select autosport within the Apple news app, the full autosport articles are there.

None of that sounds particularly innovative...

It's not on there, I can only find regular Autosport articles.

No to tweets and no to studio coverage.
Be on location, its a huge part of the overall coverage, being there and i hope C4 don't go that route as it will make for a VERY boring season on C4.
Highlights have to be as much race coverage as contractually allowed and if possible, in-full replay and nothing less!

I liked the old ITV studio at the track set up. Instead walking into straight up noise constantly (especially in the build up) I think a paddock outdoorsy studio would work a bit like the 2009 forum. A table/ few chairs job.

I think that Brookes will be in that role for the 2016 season. Pinkham won't go on the early season long haul races and she won't be doing the European races because she is due to give birth in June. I would doubt she will be doing the end of season fly aways either.
Due to give birth? Didn't she just have a baby!?

Yes and she is pregnant again, with the baby due in the summer.

NBC does something along them lines. Might work....

One thing we should bear in mind is that C4, as the home of the Paralympics, is running a scheme to develop presenters and producers with physical disabilities. So it wouldn't surprise me if there was someone on the team who hasn't previously been associated with F1 tv coverage.

Not during the Qualifying and Race. I think the Practice sessions are a perfect time to real tweets and messages out.

No to studio coverage for me, and no to reading tweets out UNLESS it's to ask a question.

Reading out someones tweet that says "I think Hamilton drove well today and will win the title" is a waste of time and adds nothing. If I'm honest I have no interest in hearing the opinions of fans via Twitter or anything else after a race, especially if something controversial happened and it was basically fanboys tweeting that Rosberg is a cheater or that Bottas should've been penalised for this that or the other etc.

I'd happily listen to fans asking questions to pundits/experts/team members etc that can be answered though, for example asking Toto Wolff if a 3 stop was always the plan or if they intended to do 2 stops but ended up doing 3 as the tyre wear was higher than they'd predicted due to an increase in track temperature compared to practice and quali and therefore felt that if they did a 2 stop they'd leave themselves at risk of losing the race due to the tyres likely falling off the cliff in the closing laps.

Even something like "how long will it take to pack up and get everything on the road to the next race" is more interesting to me than "Hamilton did nothing wrong, I don't know why people are saying he should've had a penalty"

Worst of both worlds. Looks wooden, they miss the atmosphere of the pit lane, and they still have to pay to have everyone there.

I like Sky's "Ask Crofty" where he does a quick summary of what people are saying on Twitter, and they sometimes read out tweets in the practice sessions, which is good but then the practice sessions have a very different atmosphere. Definitely no reading out tweets in the race/qualifying coverage. May as well make it a phone in show.
