when will we here about the channel 4 offical F1 team as its get late in the month with only Coulthard signed at the mo?
The last two C4 press releases just said the team will be announced "in due course" and "in the coming weeks", nothing more specific (although I'd thought they'd mentioned February at one point). Plenty of time yet - we'll just have to wait.

No to studio coverage for me, and no to reading tweets out UNLESS it's to ask a question.

Reading out someones tweet that says "I think Hamilton drove well today and will win the title" is a waste of time and adds nothing. If I'm honest I have no interest in hearing the opinions of fans via Twitter or anything else after a race, especially if something controversial happened and it was basically fanboys tweeting that Rosberg is a cheater or that Bottas should've been penalised for this that or the other etc.

I'd happily listen to fans asking questions to pundits/experts/team members etc that can be answered though, for example asking Toto Wolff if a 3 stop was always the plan or if they intended to do 2 stops but ended up doing 3 as the tyre wear was higher than they'd predicted due to an increase in track temperature compared to practice and quali and therefore felt that if they did a 2 stop they'd leave themselves at risk of losing the race due to the tyres likely falling off the cliff in the closing laps.

Even something like "how long will it take to pack up and get everything on the road to the next race" is more interesting to me than "Hamilton did nothing wrong, I don't know why people are saying he should've had a penalty"
Agree with this entirely. Being based in a studio would take away all the atmosphere and spontaneity.

Tweets are okay if they're questions, nothing else. Air time is precious, there's plenty of other sites and outlets for people to big up their favourite drivers or to moan about ones they don't like, national TV coverage is not the place for it.

Sorry to be negative, but the last thing I want is more tweets read out. Especially live and without someone editing out the dross.
Second that, it adds nothing to the live racing and to be honest just distracts and takes up valuable broadcasing time and space on screen.
If people want to read the tweets or social media the should do it on their own phones/tablets. Broadcasters should not force it on viewers who dont care for it.
no to reading tweets out UNLESS...."
And up there ☝↑ is your egalitarian answer to the obnoxiousness know as... Broadcasting Egalitarianism.

The British Rally Championship is returning this year and highlights are airing this year on Channel 4 and BT Sport:

This is huge for the series!

Probably be the beginning of February regarding Channel 4's line-up.

Now would make sense for C4 to air that in the half hour before their F1 coverage at around 11.30am, but knowing C4 it'll be at 6.30am and then they'll wonder why nobody watched.

Rolex 24 At Daytona

America's biggest endurance race is back with Rolex 24 At Daytona. It is the first round of the 2016 ISMA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and also the first round of the four race North American Endurance Cup, many famous American racer will be there including Kyle Larson, Scott Dixon and even Brazilian Rubens Barrichello.

In the UK the whole 24 hours will be streamed on ISMA.TV, with qualifying streamed tonight at 9pm on the same channel. As far as I'm aware I was told that Motors TV would have a 2 hour highlights package but as of now there nothing in the schedule to say that.

In the USA the surprise is that the FOX channel will not show any of the 24 hours live on the over-the-air channel which is slightly disappointing considering this is the biggest endurance race in America, instead the coverage will be exclusive to FS1, FS2 and ISMA.TV.

Below is the schedule for all the sessions shown on TV in America and the UK. (All times listed are GMT)

28th January 2016 (Tonight):
4:00pm-5:35pm: Rolex 24 Qualifying (ISMA.TV)

Raceday Schedule (30/1/16-31/1/16)

UK:
7:00pm (30/1/16)-8:00pm (31/1/16): Rolex 24 Live Stream (ISMA.TV)

USA (FS1):
7:00pm-9:00pm: Rolex 24 Part 1
12:00pm-3:30pm: Rolex 24 Part 4
6:00pm-8:00pm: Rolex 24 Part 6

USA (FS2):
9:00pm-3:00am: Rolex 24 Part 2
3:30pm-6:00pm: Rolex 24 Part 5

USA (ISMA.TV):
3:00am-12:00pm: Rolex 24 Part 3

Good news for MotoGP watchers, BT will be showing the Sepang test live. It won't be shown on the main channels but it will be shown on the BT Sport digital platform and on btsport.com.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And Sky is pulling out all the stops as Ted is doing a special Baku Notebook, I presume it will be filmed where the circuit will be built and Ted will be proably show us around Baku.

I know it has only been a month into the new year but I already feel like the Notebook has been more extensive than it was this time last year, we've had one for the Autosport International (Although I don't think that has been shown yet) and now this, Ted has really been a busy worker through the off-season hasn't he

You can't really say it is more extensive until it has aired on screen. Sky did go to Mexico last January (although that was linked to the Force India launch with Perez) for a special Notebook so it is similar to this time last year.

No sign of a special Notebook from the Autosport Show in Sky's schedules, I'm not convinced that will air on TV.

Thanks for the heads up. So motogp.com were telling porkies with the email they sent me that said the testing was "only on Videopass with motogp.com"?

Depends whether BT will add their own stuff to it, or just take Dorna's 'vanilla' testing feed that I presume Dorna will be showing on Videopass.

The Autosport stuff is supposed to be on tonight at 8pm as an F1 show special

Edit - Just checked the schedule and the Autosport show is on SkyF1 at 8pm tonight, repeated at 11pm

Cheers for that. Will chromecast fine, so happy.
Been looking at all the Daytona 24 recent youtube stuff.
Looking to be good motosrport viewing for the weekend.

There is some on imsa.tv, but it all seems to be live radio, no live video so far.
Usually get geoblocked that site does it not?

The wording of this page on Sky's website makes it sound Ted's Notebook from ASI will form part of tonight's ASI show, rather than as a special show on it's own.

"Been missing your regular dose of Ted's Notebook over the F1 off-season?

Well, pre-season testing may still be a few weeks away yet, but you don't have to wait any longer as the first edition of 2016 comes on Friday night on Sky Sports F1 as part of a one-hour show from Autosport International 2016.

I assume the first 30 minutes of the show will features highlights of the Williams interviews and the other stuff with the Notebook after that. Even if that's not the case then I think this should be a great show to watch, I won't be able to watch it when it first airs because I'm out tonight however I have got it on record luckly!

Keith Huewen said that it will be the world feed commentary for the coverage which means BT are taking just the raw feed from Dorma which I think BT do as well for their online-only Europa League games. He did mention however that it will be free to watch for all users and even to those who don't have BT Sport.

That's a shame and to be honest why stream it if they are not showing video coverage, you got ISMA.TV anyway which is not geo-blocked and is streaming radio commentary and a few onboard cameras anyway.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Martin Brundle made this tweet on his page suggesting that Sky will refreshing their coverage this year, wonder what these 'great ideas' are?

Why does that make a difference to the validity of their claim?

Maybe you were watching at the wrong time Lettice, or the Radio Le Mans guys were just replaying their audio coverage. I tuned in on both imsa.tv & fanschoice.tv at 9PM in time for the live qualifying in the UK AND the Continental race, and both were streaming in video fine... I don't think there's any video coverage for Practice sessions though.

The Imsa.tv RADIO player is just whatever Radio Le Mans happen to be broadcasting at the time, whether it's actual live stuff or not, and that player on IMSA's site is on 24/7 regardless of live or video coverage.

Even so, Imsa.tv is rarely if ever geo-blocked in the UK (It is geoblocked in the US at times when Fox Sports are showing the races live there)

Bad news for all you Legacy Sky F1 subscribers thinking of Sky Q. .
With the introduction of Sky Q the Sky F1 legacy offering comes to an end and the only way to get Sky F1 is to subscribe to Sky Sports.
Sky+ HD is around for a few years yet though, so you can still hang on to that.

Surely though that only applies to those who upgrade and so replace their existing Sky+HD with SkyQ instead.

I have no interest in upgrading, my 2 Sky+HD do exactly what I need and SkyQ offers nothing useful enough for to upgrade.

Unless I have misunderstood what you are saying and Sky are also removing the legacy HD pack from all customers even those who don't upgrade?

Yeah, it sounds like it's just people who want to upgrade to SkyQ.

That's always been the case.

The moment you switch packages, you enter a new contract and with that abandon any previous terms that you had (including legacy HD packages).
