I've always maintained that Speed by Bond would be an acceptable substitute.
Of course, that's not the version that was on their Shine album but it gives you a good idea of the original track.

With the added bonus that defending champion Hulkenberg and Alonso are not able to compete.

Its Bernies kick in the nuts to ACO.

Not sure how I feel about Steve Jones being C4's F1 presenter.

Who is he? Does anyone know? Presumably he's someone with no knowledge of motor racing. So another Jim Rosenthal.

His CV on Wiki does not look at all promising.

I don't understand all the hoo-ha tbh. Ron would never let Alonso race in Le Mans regardless of Schedule, and Le Mans has always clashed with F1 even as far back as a few years ago. Anyway its only the F1 quali we're missing so they're rarely moments fraught with drama - especially as they don't influence the championship re. points. The race is more important, and that starts when Le Mans finishes.

Think of him as similar to where Jake Humphrey was in 2009, i.e. no sports presenting experience. He used to present T4 on Channel 4 several years ago. He's an entertainments presenter, not a sports presenter. Then again everyone thought Jake was a bad choice given that most of the stuff he'd done before F1 was CBBC shows...

Is he the Steve Jones who did the Weekend Kitchen with Waitrose?
Always thought he was a bit of a spare part in that to his co-women presenters .
A search on youtube 'Weekend Kitchen with Waitrose' brings up many of the old programme clips.

There's also Steve Jones the horse racing writer...

Although Humphrey had plenty of sports presenting under his belt by then, having done the Olympics and Euros in 2008 and a bit of football and NFL. Jones could be good or terrible. We just won't know yet

He could be interested in F1 & motorsports in general as much as any of us.

Me either, has it been confirmed that he's the main presenter?

Will C4 be the making the practise / quali sessions available for download on All4? And if so how long after the end of a programme does it normally take for them to get it ready for download? I have been in the habit of doing this with BBC iPlayer so I can watch at work during a slack period where I could be parked without a decent mobile data / wi-fi signal to use (on non-FTA races I listen live to the R5SX / Online radio commentary).

How much do people want to bet that Krishnan Guru Murthy will show up during an F1 show and of course the inevitable Sunday Brunch F1 special at Silverstone .

Maybe June Sarpong will be the pit lane reporter.

So the new F1 app is basically the website. At least the cross plattform F1 Access service should work now.

To be fair to Steve, he has a whack of live TV experience and as Suzi showed it's a tough skill to learn on the job. If he gets the role, it's a solid choice.

His twitter profile is brilliantly funny..
I'll say Good Deal until convinced otherwise.

I really hope C4 haven't gone for him, although it is seemingly looking highly likely now.

This is one of the biggest sporting events that C4 have ever gained the rights for (arguably the biggest?), and they're giving the main job to a guy who'll soon be presenting a show called Sex Box.

Hopefully he doesn't turn out to be another Ortis Deley.

We will wait and see what happens, Would of actually be nice to have someone with a disability but that is the same for all TV really.

So, what, is that "come back Suzi all is forgiven" already?

Well, it'll be interesting anyway.

Oh god no! I would rather give Steve a chance than bringing Suzi back!
