There's a complete video of the Thursday track test in Bahrain circulating, mildly interesting for any of the absolute hardcore fans out there. They sure do give the medical and safety car a good ragging.

Completely agree, they seem to have a strange appeal about them.

I love those videos! FOM should live stream them on YouTube. I presume no-one else has the rights for it anyway :P

I've just finished watching the post-race from C4 last week (I know, but I've had a busy week!). I don't think it's been mentioned on here yet, but I love how it seems to be C4/Whisper house style (well, they've done it in Aus and Bahrain anyway ) to edit in parts of the music video for the song that they are using for the closing montage. It's a bit of a C4 house style thing, and it harks back to the cricket coverage when they used to splice in Lou Bega's Mambo No 5 video in montages on a regular basis.

I caught a show called Sexbox last night, and to my surprise Steve Jones was presenting.
Strangely, he seemed infinitely more comfortable than he has on C4F1 and wasn't afraid to ask the difficult questions...
That was an eye opening of hour television, and I will never be able to see Jones in the same way again after hearing him say "it's all fun and games until someone presents an erect penis".

The IMSA sportscar race at Long Beach is at 3am on Sunday apparently. So probably one for the insomniacs.
If you tune in at 3am you'll be disappointed. It starts at midnight, and will be finished by 2am.

Thank you for pointing this out. Much appreciated.

They've listed all the TV times for U.S. Eastern Standard Time (ET), not the actual time zone where the race is (California is in Pacific Daylight Time). Caused me quite a bit of confusion, but figured it out eventually.

On the provisional IMSA 'fan schedule' PDF the start is listed at 4.05. Which is five past midnight in the UK.

I was going to give this race a miss live, and watch the official Youtube video.

The Youtube live comments suggesting new GT3 cars in reference to the winning car in the Blancpain Sprint Cup qualifying race amused me. I've hidden it in a spoiler as they're a bit obvious.

Motors TV is still available on sky 447 and Virgin 545, but no longer now on the freeview connect service.

Sky's scheduling is being stupid again. They were showing China 09 classic F1 tonight which is at least a 2.5hr programme however it only had a slot from 9-10:15. And so just before 10:15, with 30 laps to go, it goes to adverts and returns with the 50 millionth repeat of architects of F1. Very annoying as I was enjoying rewatching that race and it's not like they show it often unlike all the 100s of repeats of the various legends/architects of F1. Is it that difficult to sort out your repeats sky?!?

Me thinks someone made a very big cock up there.
Possible they were supposed to show an edited version because thats not like Sky to cut off and go to another show post-break.

I find it unacceptable that I have to subscribe to Sky TV and Sky Sports just to watch F1. F1 should offer a subscription direct online service or make Sky do it.

Now TV is a rippoff, and I think without HD?

Just for you, huh? Do you think they should do that for other sports as well? Because that's gonna bump the costs of watching all sport up a hell of a lot!

Why would either F1 or Sky do that when they both make a lot of many doing it their way? It's hardly likely that F1 would negotiate for F1 to be behind a pay-wall and then undermine that revenue source.

Nope, it's in 720p HD at it's highest quality (depends on your bandwidth).

my understanding was that catch-up/on demand content was in HD but the live streaming was in SD.

has this changed?

Only sports are streamed in 720p now.
The rest of the live streams are SD. Catch up on some content is also 720p but how much, im yet to find out.

As for the comment regarding NowTV being a rip off..... LOL!!!!!

Have a read of D.M.N's informative blog post about the costs of subscribing, Now TV passes etc... https://f1broadcasting.co/2016/01/28...ts-f1-in-2016/

Does anyone remember when the first season of the (2010) FIA GT1 World Championship had it's main TV broadcaster (in Europe at least) as that well-known Motorsports channel Bloomberg?
