Seems to be two or three new camera angles that I don't remember FOM ever having before at this track. Very nice.
Yeah, I especially like the new low shot of start/finish straight

That was my favourite too. Fantastic sense of speed as they launch into T1.

They're going to need to keep with the low shots in future if the halo device comes in and is the same form as the one tested on the Ferrari pre-season, otherwise the driver will be mostly obscured by the bit at the top of the central pillar.

Quali delayed with red flag because theres a little puddle and feel like trying to remove it.

Yes, what a joke that was. Some highly enjoyable sarcasm from Brundle throughout though.

Already looks like we're set for a cracking race tomorrow...

Which nobody noticed 20 minutes earlier, so they couldn't possibly dry it out when there was nothing going on - Or did Bernie sneak out with the hosepipe when nobody was looking

Has anyone noticed FOM seems to overlay engine noises on replays? Particularly noticeable during the red flag in Q1, and a little cheap really IMO.

I think FOM have always used a "generic" engine sound background for replays, for at least the last 10 years IIRC.

Maybe a bit late on noticing this, but I'm not a fan of the noise DORNA have added to their coverage when someone crashes. Seems Formula E started with adding the random noises to coverage and now MotoGP have followed, hope it's not the start of a trend

Ted's qualifying notebook was funny Wrestling with umbrellas and chasing notebook pages across the paddock!

Had me in stitches with what both were saying. Im glad of it too because that wait while they fannied about drying the track was getting tiresome!!

Coulthard made a good point about if they had disabled DRS on the main straight, there probably would have been enough grip to get through that puddle without incident.
He also made a quip about Manor's Shazam sponsorship on the live feed but thankfully the Channel 4 editor took that out.

I think for replays, FOM keep the audio from whatever shot is being shown live, running underneath the audio from the replay. Which explains why you'd hear other engine noises in the background.

FOM's excessive heli camera obsession is back.

The Helicopter FX is really annoying me! It's not normal to hear it, keep the FX on the track. The even had it on a replay that went into slo-mo. Very poor. Brundle commented on it too. Not as annoying as Massa keeping Lewis behind him though!

The directing today was rubbish! Missing action, cutting to random people during a battle...who wants to see some kid in the pitlane or a team member?

Everytime I see a Helicam shot now I think "I bet FOM Fan is happy right now" and it's really ruining my enjoyment of the race

Just to play Devil's Advocate - Massa was ahead of Hamilton. If Hamilton wanted to get past him he should have tried harder. 2 other drivers showed him how to overtake Massa

Sky really don't like showing the OnBoard-Mix for races. At the 1st 2 races they didn't have it available on the red button for the 1st few laps & today they simply didn't bother putting it on there at all.

Great to put it on the ipad app but not everyone has an ipad (Yet, I want to get one but I keep having to spend my spare cash on other things ).

Thought the podium interviewer was pretty good there. Crofty struggled on the first lap and during the busier earlier periods.

Came here to say the same. Disappointing to only have 3 static onboard feeds for the whole race showing the likes of Ricciardo running in clean air, not hard to make one of the 3-5 feeds the FOM Mix. As you say, we don't all have the luxury of an iPad and since Sky no longer support the web player I would expect the main onboard feed to at least be on the red button.

Really wish Martin would go back to the days when working with Allen he'd jump in like he did on the first corner incident live today. Or when he is talking and calling action's he describes what is going on rather than letting Crofty shout over him to 'take charge'. Crofty always likes to ensure he is doing it all. I know he is the lead comm but 50/50ish approach works much better for me.

Just watched China live on NowTV.
Sky had a long advert break immediately after the national Anthem. I've not known that before. Thought they stayed live from 30 mins before till after the podium?
I suppose that's a response to Ch4 having a 1 minute break immediately before the formation lap when they are live.

Yeah Sky started at Australia, don't see the point of it although as you said it's a response to C4 broadcasting F1.

This is annoying.

My Sky recorded 'Pit Lane Live' which took me up to the anthem, then it stops so I swap over to 'Grand Prix' but that began way before brundles grid walk so I have to fastforward 40 minutes of stuff I've seen.

Yeah looks like Pit Lane Live didn't stop recording when it should have done, mine is 52 minutes, although I'd dived straight into the race programme so I hadn't noticed. At least they didn't mess up the start trigger for the race programme I suppose.
