I have a Samsung Galaxy A3 and am trying to buy a couple of spare phones and am looking at used Samung Galaxy 3/4's including the mini versions of them.

Some of the phones do not have battery chargers with them, does anyone know if the Samsung Galaxy A3 phone charger will charge the Samsung Galaxy 3/4 including the Mini versions. Can they charge other Samsungs in addition to that?

It's microUSB, there is no such thing as a Galaxy A3 specific charger. Any microUSB charger will do.

So yes, you can charge your s3/s4 with a Samsung charger that came with an A3, or Nokia, or HTC, or Sony, or Huaweii, or any other brand that has a microUSB adapter for charging.

Do they charge as quickly though? Any chance of there being damage to other phones or is it a general universal type of a charger?

No, the phone will take the amount of charge it requires, it is universal. As I say, any charger from a microUSB phone will charge any other microUSB phone.

To set your mind at rest, I have Samsung, Nokia, HTC, Samsung, Asus and Apple chargers scattered around and charge Samsung, Apple, Nokia, Huaweii and Sony devices from them in a pick n mix fashion. Whoever needs a charge plugs into whatever is free and in 5 years it's never caused a problem.

I try and use a 2A charger if the device supports or needs faster charging (like the iPad or iPhone 6s), but plugging a normal phone that only needs 1A into a 2A charger is completely safe, modern phones have smart charging and can take the amperage that they need, all chargers output 5v as standard (leaving aside the higher voltage Quick Charge type chargers that have a dual output, but even they can be used on any phone as the phone will select the 5v option automatically).

Thanks again, you got any links as to where I could buy a good charger if I need one? Some of the ones I'm looking at have some bad reviews with some people saying they caught fire and or get very hot while charging as well as taking 3 times longer to charge the phone.

My LG G2 charger is 1.8A which means it charges at 8 watts.

However I rarely need a hot fast battery charge so the one that gets the main use is my Huawei 0.4A USB charger.

Now that is only a 2 watt charge yet it certainly does not take 4 times as long. I am at guessing at it being 3 times. Theres simply none of the battery degrading heat waste produced as a side process of fast charging so I am happier with that.

I do similar for my tablet, charging that at 1A 5 watts instead of using the standard 2A 10 watt USB charger supplied.

I usually only use original chargers, you could try somewhere like mobilefun, they sell decent quality and OEM, or else direct from Amazon (not from other suppliers on Amazon).

Here's a decent price for a genuine charger, Handtec are a good retailer, and won't be selling fakes.
