iPhone 6S screen goes blank randomly, software issue?
Anyone else have this? The last week or so my wife's 6S screen occasionally goes black but it's still on, it's like the screen is displaying a black screen but the screen is still on, if I hit the volume key you can see the onscreen volume etc, but you can't do anything bar restart the phone via power/home button pressed together.
After a google it appears it's software related? Weird because my 6S has never done it touch wood. Anyone else with a 6S that's done this? Or perhaps a older iPhone? |

It will still be under warranty, so a trip to an Apple store for them to run diagnostics would be sensible. |

I would echo jchamier's comment, haven't seen it on any of our iPhones, from 5s to 6s, a visit to a Store might be a good idea.

Well I see there was an update this evening 9.2.1, just update both phones to that.
She reckons it was doing this around once a day on average, so we will see how it goes with the update installed because it does actually say "bug fixes", so fingers crossed. If it still does it then we will have to make a trip to the Apple Store. Thanks folks |

Done it already as it only took a few mins, see how we go with that, if not it's over to Apple and let them sort it out.

iTunes has a brilliant multi user function with one or two annoying flaws.
If you double click the icon while holding down Shift you can create or load different profiles each as if running on a separate PC. Bizarrely though it retains the last iCloud/iTunes login when you change profiles. So you then have to log out and log in again. Brilliant feature made annoying. Also it's not totally separate I have found as the backups all appear under all profiles. Still haven't quite got my head around how it actually works but it's useful when you have 3 children, 2 with an iPhone 5 and one with an iPod touch. Clearly I don't have two pennies to rub together........ |

I'd say total restore to see, if not it's a hardware fault.

Lol Devon.
But if you google it brings up loads of results suggesting it's a software glitch? That's why I did the OTA update straight away. Will just hope it sorts it, if not I might do a restore. Cheers guys |

![]() Strange answer, you do realise it's the software used to do a full restore on an iPhone? Having said that, that's what most people think of Vodafone, it doesn't stop you loving them .

What's the difference then between doing a full restore on iTunes and go into the phone settings and "erasing all content and settings"? I thought it was the same? Last time I did erase all content and settings the phone was completely wiped and back to the setup screen like it comes from the box brand new.
