I have a Nexus 7 2013 version at the moment, but looking for something a bit bigger at 8" and with less frame.

Any ideas? My budget is around £100 and I want something just as good spec. wise.

I would need Android too.

Thanks

You would be replacing a very nice 2013 tablet with a very cheap 2016 one. Ignoring the no-name Chinese trash, the Kindle Fire HD 8 is £130, and that still has a thick frame.

Very nice, but £150. If we are going over budget I'd say the iPad mini 2 at £190.

It's Amazon though, not Android.

I would suggest looking at Asus and Lenovo as they make some pretty decent tablets for the money.

that extra 1" isnt going to make much difference, (despite what the ladies tell you), and for £100 as been mentioned you would be probably getting something worse than you currently have.

I would second that. My sister has the IPad mini 2 and she loves it. She got it the year it came out. I gave here the money for it as a Christmas gift and she put the rest towards it to get the 3G version.
I have had the IPad Mini 4 just over 3 weeks now and now love it.
A bit out of the OP price range but I'm glad I payed the extra and got t to replace my Nexus 7 2012 modal.
I did like the Nexus 7 when I first got it but I started having minor problems with it last year to the point that some days I would not even use my Nexus 7.
Air it got to be Android then Asua made some OK tablets for under £200.
A good Android tablet will cost £100 and over.
Also if buying an Android tablet make sure it comes with at lest the OS 5.0 Lollypop.

Thanks. The issue I have is that I have over £100's worth of Android apps.

I saw the Mini 2 in Sainsburys and loved the shape which was 8" and looked like a 4:3 tablet.

I have an Amazon fire 7 @ £35 and added google playstore and can run virtually all android apps. Same can be done with other versions as well.

What have you bought? Many apps that were paid have gone 'freemium' in recent years.

I have hardly paid for any apps on my iPad.

A little bit over your budget but does have 4G for good measure.

looking at the specs id say its no better than what you have and probably a slight step down.

im after a tablet but unsure which one to get. like the thread author it has to be android. I have a sony xperia z2 phone which runs apps fine with great picture quality but reading newspapers/magazines and watching tv on such a small screen is becoming difficult. just want a bigger screen. is the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 any good? argos say its android 5.0 but other retailers says the same model runs kit kat 4.4
