The soundtrack actually started to annoy me as it went on.
It was fun at first but they abused the whole queue random pop song shtick.

You can tell it was edited by a trailer company, no idea on how to convey emotions other than hammering it in with a tune.

I saw this with my mum and she said she thought it was better than GOTG. *Shakes head* I know. I thought it was in the same vein, but missed pulling it off. I fear she may have been dazzled by the cracking soundtrack.
either way its pretty apparent that the low reviews are bit harsh.

Agreed, the reviews were way too harsh. I found it so much more enjoyable than Batman V Superman. I WANT a sequel to this

Superman III and Superman Returns were better than BvS. Hell ever Quest for Peace can at least be enjoyed in a so bad it's laughable kindoff way. BvS was plain boring.

Christina Hendricks as Poison Ivy would be epic but I doubt Hollywood would cast someone "so old", sadly.
I've (also) seen on Twitter people are also hoping for either Isla Fisher and Bridget Regan to (possibly) portray Poison Ivy as well.

Abdullah Coldwater a so called DC comics fan has started a petition on change.org to get the review site Rotten Tomatoes shit down for allowing an unprecedented slate of negative reviews of Suicide Squad from critics arguing the site giving bad reviews affects people's opinions of the movie.

Two things he needs to get out more and secondly critics opinions are exactly that an opinion that influences mostly no one, I loved The Lone Ranger critics savaged it yet I don't want dissenting opinion or criticism banned because we live in a free society where we can all air our individual opinions on what ever subject is at hand.

And yes I am thinking about starting my own petition to ban Abdullahs petition.😊

As the saying goes you can't polish a turd, Suicide Squad is a glittery turd but still a turd.

Unprecedented? I have seen films being slated much worse (hello BvS) , most reviews for SS merely state the film is meh.
He does need to get out more.

Leto was terrible. Like a Juggalo version of Al Pacino chewing scenery.

The whole premise was flawed. Waller putting together this 'squad' in case the next superman is evil. If the next Superman was evil, how long do you think he'd need to beat this 'squad'? 10 seconds maybe, if he laughed for the first 9......

Much like the final battle of this film, in which the super powerful Enchantress decides the best combat tactic in her arsenal is weak throwing melee moves......it just makes no sense.

The Squad needed a low powered enemy(ies) or a simple mission - something like breaking someone out of Arkham Asylum, or even trying to take down a gone rogue Batman (a pretty fun flip of the convensional hero movie).

Someone more familiar with the comics than me: wasn't the purpose of the Suicide Squad to counteract any non-superbing entities. Sort of like an ultra ultra black ops?

Just come back from the cinema. I thought this was a pretty good film. Not outstanding, and not on the same level as Marvel's best films but an entertaining enough flick and one I think is worth watching. A solid 7/10 film for me. The 26% on Rotten Tomatoes is an absolute joke.

Jared Leto is an awful Joker though, although he was really poorly written as well.

Caught this this morning at the Cinema.

Margot was fantastic as Harley, but the rest of the film wasn't great, to say the least.
I would say, Will Smith was a better Deadshot than the Arrow version, but CCH Pounder should have been playing Waller.

Jared Leto was truly awful as Joker, so I was glad his appearance was kept to a minimum.
What wasn't in small supply, was the overbearing Rock tracks soundtracking the film, with a new one popping up every few minutes, in at least the first reel of the film. It did my head in after a while, even though I liked the songs in question.,

The baddies were a CGI mess, with no real threat, especially as the story wasn't really going anywhere anyway.

That being said, I'd plonk the Suicide Squad team in another movie, with Pounder taking the Waller role, as they weren't the issue with the film.

It's worth watching if you want to see Margot shine as Harley, and take in a few decent moments, but don't go expecting anything tremendous otherwise.

The CinemaScore breakdown has been interesting. Overall it was marked "B+". Those under 35 gave it an "A-", those under 18 gave it an "A", Women gave it an "A-" so it was just Aged 35+ Males who gave it a "B". Guess who make up the majority of reviewers

Well I just got in from watching it and I thought it was very, very boring. It takes a special talent to take a film with so much in it and make it boring but they did it.

It wasn't awful, an awful film would at least have gotten a reaction from me but I spent the whole film rather numb. It was slow, it made little sense* and it was bland.

And the fact that someone was paid for writing the Deadshot line "Lady you are evil" in the finale is criminal.

* not as in "magic and superheroes makes no sense" but as in "stop her, I can't it's not working, damn....wait a minute she's five foot away and you are carrying a gun just shoot her for f-s sake".

(As we were leaving someone equally disappointed behind us said "Well as long as they don't mess up Justice League". What in the last three films gives him any belief that they won't?)

Total garbage.

I thought I'd give this a go because I though it had potential to be fun. The extremely misleading trailer made it look like a Joker v Suicide Squad caper, but as soon as the supernatural element was thrown in, I zoned out. Its basically a rehash of the awful Avengers Assemble - super powerful villain brought down in pathetic manner by rag tag group of misfits.

The soundtrack is far too distracting and quite schizophrenic, to the extent that lots of the dialogue and jokes fall flat because there is no flow to the movie. The characters are very two dimensional with extremely predictable story arcs, and I couldn't care less about the story because it's so inane.

a good point, those films are terrible

i guess the difference for me is that everyone i know in person who has watched TF hates it. but everyone who has wacthed SS enjoyed it. just think reviewers are way off the mark on this one. sure people on internet put it down but internets a miserable place. real people who socially interact all enjoyed it.

although one guy at gym last night did want to beat me up because i advised him to rent BvS lol

Are you actually capable of defending a movie without making personal attacks on other people? First off calling everyone who didn't like MoS and BvS' depiction of Superman "kids" and "comic book geeks" for desiring a brighter, less moody version of the character and now saying anyone who doesn't like Suicide Squad doesn't enjoy their lives and doesn't socially interact with real people.

I mean really mate, bang out of order.
