I think you're stretching here. I didn't rate Suicide Squad very highly myself, but it seems contrary and perverse not to admit it's been a big hit. You may not like it - and I might be sympathetic to your opinion - but it's clearly made a shed-load of money. Although what with Hollywood accounting being so opaque - Warner Bros may never admit to that fact.
hes been shown up here, what an apt user name he has!

DC are really making a mess of their film universe. It's so odd that they are making the Justice League movie (2017) before the stand alone Flash and Aquaman films (both 2018).

I don't see WB/DC film universe as a mess as I thought that the Justice League would be the proper introduction despite the previous cameos to Flash and Aquaman before their own films!

I don't see how they're making a mess of their film universe.
I've seen it said that the film series is doing badly because professional film critics have problems with the films. Stuff the film critics. It's the actual general public who fork out money to pay to watch them that counts.

Have you know? Jeez I wonder where you might have seen that.

Your going to have 2 character introductions (plus Cyborg) in a movie that already has a lot going on. Standalone movies first that give us the origins, character style/personality and place in the universe would be far better than trying to crowbar it all into an event movie.

I don't even know what that means.
Looks like it was supposed to be rude though.

The release date for the digital download seems to vary, I've seen three so far on different websites!

Have to admit, I was hoping for more than thirteen minutes and maybe more of an alternate cut rather than just stuff added in just because it was available. Still, looking forward to checking it out...sometime in November.

Leto certainly hopes so. If he keeps bellyaching that might be the last time he gets to see himself as The Joker.

Right, watched the extended cut on Friday night. Much, much better. Feels much more cohesive, expanding the Joker / HQ relationship and makes her a much more interesting character. The dynamic of the squad is developed upon and it all just feels... better. The third act is still poor and Enchantress is now by far the weakest element if the film but it just about creeps over the line into being a good film.

Funny thing is I felt much thw same about the extended cut of BvS. Begs the question about what Warners are doing? They seem to be getting decent enough films shot and ruining them in post production. If they can sort that out there's hope for the DCEU yet.

Watched recently also. Atrocious & cringeworthy.

I finally watched the extended version on Sunday night. Started out pretty rubbish, like an inferior Oceans Eleven. Got decent in the middle, then went a bit rubbish again at the end. Not great I have to say. And why didn't The Flash just whizz through the dimensions and save the day?

Will Smith was OK as Deadshot, but the rest of the characters were pretty poor. De-Lavigne (those Eyebrows are really bushy) was badly cast, and Jared Leto was trying too hard as the Joker. It's a superhero movie, not some Oscar worthy method piece.

Margot Robbie was the shining light for me. The only decent character and portrayed really well. And to think a few years ago she was in Neighbours. Disappointing film and I preferred Batman v Superman, yet it wasn't fantastic either.

At the end I skipped to see if there was an end credits scene. My wife turns to me and says. 'You're such a geek'. lol.

Enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, and Margot Robbie is the standout. I'd happily watch a Suicide Squad 2 should there ever be one.

I watched this last night , i don't think it filled 2 hours tbh , i t wasok but felt it didnt have enough in it to last that long , i didnt like the witch they were against , it felt like way too much fantasy for me , it felt like it went from superhero stuff to lord of the rings so i wasnt keen.

I agree with everyone Margot Robbie was brilliant as HQ , i laughed a lot when she was being wheeled in a wheelchair out of the prison and she was going "Wheeeeeeeeee"

I'm only just getting through season 2 of The Arrow , they have a suicide squad episode in that , why is Deadshot played by a white guy in that and Will Smith in the film ??

Pretty sure if Barry was on the scene, the movie would have been cut very short.

We'll have to overlook his absence moving forward. The Flash can't be in every DCEU film, else the other characters would be side-lined. Considering how fast he's suppose to be though, he should be more than capable of taking out every villain on the planet, and being home for dinner. Doesn't make for a great story about other characters then though.

Will Smith was OK as Deadshot, but the rest of the characters were pretty poor. Margot Robbie was the shining light for me.
Whilst the characters worked, I think they were both overrated. They didn't suck, don't get me wrong, but I just felt they were abit meh. Will Smith was just playing himself. I suppose Margot did well for her portrayal, but nothing spectacular. The surprise for me was Jai Courtney (Boomerang); short of his portrayal as Varro in Spartacus, everything else he's been in, he sucked - I was expected the same with SS, but his character was one of those that stood out to me, more the comic role, but it worked. "What's that stuff on your face, does it wash off?"

Diversity? In the comics, Iris West is Caucasian, yet in the tv show, she's not. Same with Wally West. For Deadshot, it's the reverse. I think we can allow for that. I'm still hoping that (the) Green Lantern we get in the Justice League film turns out to be one of the female ones; just for a little diversity.
