I'd consider betting my house that Captain Marvel will be better.

Probably, at least if Wonder Woman is bad, Captain Marvel is coming in the next couple of years. Those movies have some weight on their shoulders, if they fail then we may not see female led superhero movies for a while. We've waited 12 years since that terrible Catwoman movie, I really want them to be good.

I see people say Black Widow should have got her own movie, but I don't think so, I find Scarlett Johansson's portrayal dull. I don't know if it's her or the character but I wouldn't rush to see a movie about her.

So the Jared Leto is Robin rumour wasn't true? Shame.

I know it's not strictly a movie, but Netflix did a sterling job with Jessica Jones.

I've rather liked her version of the character. I think she could carry a solo movie if the story was strong enough. A Jason Bourne/Wolverine type thing maybe?

Agreed. No more spoilers please!

I think we can let that one slide as it was a pretty ridiculous theory anyway.

Yes I loved Jessica Jones, I liked the physiological aspect of that show. It's not something they tackle in the movies.

It's probably Scarlet that I have an issue with, I just don't connect with her in anything. She's not a bad actress, sometimes you just can't 'click' with some people.

I think i'm particularly interested in Wonder Woman because I have always really liked the character, and also because I'm getting a tad fatigued with superhero movies in general. I'm hoping that putting a woman up front will give the movie a different feel and give me something new to get excited about. That's exactly what happened with Jessica Jones, they explored things that got me really invested in the series.

Fair enough.

Fingers crossed for the Squad, I so desperately want to enjoy it.

I think the key to getting it right is Amanda Waller. If they get her right, that's half the battle. If they get her wrong, it's not the Suicide Squad, it's just a bunch of D-listers running about.

They have got her right.

The script is the problem!

It's not that absurd. Been done in Frank Miller written comics.

If you want absurd, I'd be fairly sure Dr Manhattan from Watchmen is the BvS Luthor's Satan in the sky, based off current comics & the fact Geoff Johns is involved with the films. (Speculation not a spoiler). Ding ding.

Have you seen the film then MrSuper to know the script is wrong?

Most of the reviews do say Amanda Waller is one of the best things in Suicide Squad

I think people need to see the film first before jumping on the negative bandwagon but if you prefer to judge a film without watching it then it's your choice!

Oh yeah Geoff Johns is a producer on it but then he is a producer for the majority of WB/DC films now so it's a safe bet to make!

Only sort of.....and it wasn't exactly his finest hour, was it?

(Unless it's not the one I'm thinking of.)

Interesting in Waller as Waller on Arrow was very very good.

The Boys.

Here's hoping Seth Rogen and Sam Catlin fall off a cliff before that gets ruined as well.

Ah, I don't mind the Preacher show.

(I did like the clear influence for it- True Blood- as well though, I must admit)

Hey maybe the Saint of Killers can turn up to whack the Affleck Batman?

Hasn't The Boys been rumoured as a film for a while now?

Although after Seth Rogen success with Preacher I wouldn't be surprised to see it as a TV show instead!

Ooh, I totally forgot, the finale is out.

I'll watch it now and get back to you. ...In the relevant thread of course, I've derailed this one enough.

That's the latest rumour.

I am not hopeful.

Well I think it would do better as a TV show than a film which would be harder to get made!

Especially with the amount of comic book TV shows like Preacher,Outcast and of cause Walking Dead!

The Wrap are reporting that Suicide Squad is set to open an $140 million three day opening weekend and that's after the reviews have been online!

Batfleck is about the only thing about the franchise so far that I'd keep.

Let's point The Saint at Zack Snyder instead. The DCEU can be rescued, just not by him.

I just don't think you can transfer Garth Ennis to any other medium. You have to remove everything that makes it Garth Ennis, and what you're left with is....well....the Preacher TV show.

I'd be mortified to see The Boys diluted like that. Butcher would end up like Grant Mitchell.

If the film is a mess it doesn't take a genius to figure out the script may be part of the problems. All the reviews have said it. Decent first act, ok second act, bad third act.

From my understanding, they rushed BvS because they were panicking about Marvel. Personally, I would have preferred a standalone Batman film first to introduce the new character but they wanted to introduce the Justice League characters. It was a rushed hot mess.

Of course, some people loved BvS and will love SS but, in my experience, if majority of critics are mauling a film, it's not looking good. And as you say, WW has to save the day!!

I have already booked tickets and as mentioned somewhere else, die hard comic fans will see this regardless but its a shame if they have ballsed it up.

Some spoiler free reviews I have seen today

"SS is a pretty dark movie. its also a lot of fun with good acting and a lot of DC easter eggs"

"SS is a mess. Sometimes an entertaining mess. Sometimes an unbelievably disastrous mess. I don't really know what the f*** it is."

"Deranged, demented, occasionally shocking, often uneven....very....odd".

I think the problem isn't the opening or even the first week internationally. It'l get big numbers. Problem will be if people don't spread the word tell mates to see it or the films re watch value. BatsVSups had good opening numbers but everyone hated it and didn't go to re watch it. Didn't even pass a billion which most big movies do these days.

For what it's worth I'll see it. I've seen a few youtube review and they all loved it. I
