So disappointing. I always expect latinos to kill it when dancing latin dances.
I should know better.

(I am latina myself, spanish definition of latina not the north american definition of latina)

When referring to the Latin dances, they are wrongly called Latin American - the correct term is Latin AND American (the jive being from America, the rest from Latin countries).

And as we all know, the ballroom versions of the Latin dances frequently bear little resemblance to the original Latin dances, as they have been deliberately "tweaked" to make them suitable for ballrooms, etc.

Agreed! I was referring to the fact that in North America Latino/a means latinoamerica wether in Spain Latino/a means anyone from a Latin derivated language country, so a Portuguese, Spanish, Italian even Romanian could be considered Latinos.
