Samsung S6
Hi All, my first post on here, so treat me nicely!
I have upgraded my EE phone to a Samsung S6 about a month ago. However, last night when I was looking for a setting on my BT Home Hub 5 I happened to notice that my phone is connected on 2.4GHz, which is crowded with most of the other stuff in the house. I also understand from all the 'blurb' on this phone is both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Now, whilst I'm not having any particular problems with my phone I did think that perhaps it would be better connected to the less crowded 5GHz but can find absolutely no setting on the phone to make it do so, so now I am curious as to why the setting doesn't seem to exist anywhere. Anybody have any ideas on this? |

Anybody have any ideas on this? I've never come across a phone that allows the choice of bands |

Generally it's best to have separate SSIDs on the router for 2.4 and 5GHz; band steering on domestic WiFi gear never seems to work well.

Beat me to it, I used this on my S6 before I sold it. It's also on my OnePlus Two, in the same location.

With my wireless network I call my old 2.4ghz network the old name that I always use to call it before I had the 5ghz router and the new one starting in the same name, but then adding 5G at the end of it.
I then just search and my phone finds both. Mark. |
