Well he and Janette are on a "nice little earner," both being on Strictly at the same time.
So no wonder he isn't thinking of quiting. They are both talented and popular with the viewers.
So it's a "non event."

I suspect the producers will be happy that someone is apparently happy

Why would he quit? He's popular and has done rather well with every celeb he's partnered.

Thank god! He's my favourite pro, glad to hear he's back (most likely)

Best male dancer of the professionals IMO.

not one of my faves but he doesn't bother me either so I'm not bothered if he's back or not. Wasn't too sure think when I read yesterday that Giovani will be back

Alijaz is my favourite male Pro on the show, a fantastic dancer, teacher and choreographer, I really hope that SCD invite him back, they would be foolish not to.

Why should he? It's really a dream job for a dancer in UK, and he gets to work with his fiancée and best mates.

None of the dancers will know if they are coming back until around April time. So I don't know why Giovanni is assuming he will be back? Though I think the male line up will stay pretty much the same as last year, the only one I'm not too sure about is Tristan.

Personally I wouldn't call only 6th place with by far the most experienced dancer in the cast rather well.

Completely agree.

And with Aliona gone, he is probably my favourite pro overall too.

Beautiful man, great choreographer, and comes accross as a lovely chap.

Glad he's coming back.

Yeah, Jay, Kelly and Georgia were a bunch of amateurs.

To be fair, Helen did have more experience than those three - all 4 had theatre and dance training, but Helen had the most and probably the best quality training.

Helen and Aljaz were just unlucky to go out when they did - the wrong dance in the wrong week.

Can think of a similar occasion in the past - Austinwozrobbed and Erinwozrobbed - but I try not to go on about it.

Think Aljaz is one of the best male Pros.

They were screwed by the music. I think Helen could have delivered a better paso to more suitable music.

Ballet's not exactly entirely helpful for ballroom though!

And is it really his fault the public voted for worse dancers?

It was more than just ballet though. She had a diploma in Musical Theatre from RAM and performed professionally in at least one very dance heavy role on stage. And whilst ballet/contemporary aren't exactly ballroom/latin...Aliona certainly was very quick to deploy Jay's background in those genres when she needed to distract from his problems with basic ballroom technique, to good effect.

And it almost feels facetious to say so, but yes I think Aljaz is partially responsible for the partnership not getting more votes. He was half of it after all.

IIn reality, I wonder what percentage of the voting public actually vote for the pro rather than the celeb ?

Its a very interesting question and one that gets often asked in this forum.

Would Katie have won without Anton? or would she instead not even reached the final?
Would Anita? We don't know. But in both these cases I suspect they did as well as they did because of their particular pros plus their qualities and personalities.

I believe many pros do have a strong fanbase that will vote for them regardless. Namely, Anton, Pasha, Natalie and provably Kevin (complete assumption since he has had only "contenders").
Others, like Aliona, do have fanbases (not huge ones) but only active when paired with a contender.

Kristina is an enigma and also the solution to this question, because she seems one of the more popular pros, yet when given a contender (Jason Donovan and Simon Webbe) while they went to the final, albeit via the odd dance off, they didnt win.

I suppose that while to have a good pro can make a huge difference in your chances, ultimately is all about the celeb, ability and likeability.

I agree. I felt that the music they selected for them during movie week was far too dramatic and not generally as well known to the viewing public; the other picks stuck out compared to the number (I can't remember what it is called ) from Les Miseràbles. The poor girl was wobbling about during the performance and I felt really sorry for her because I knew there and then she was in a vulnerable position. The way I see it now, at least she has the time to be able to do the tour.

However, what is important to point out here that Les Mis is Helen's favourite musical and she felt it was her duty to get it right; even going to see some of the cast during the week of the rehearsals for general advice about how it should be tackled.

My angle it's about "voting for the pro" vs "voting for the celeb" so much as that the pro choreographs for the celebrity and also has to build an entertaining relationship with them. If the pairing don't get votes then some blame always has to lay with the pro a fair amount for not selling their celeb properly.

It's not really a strong slight on Aljaz so much - I can think of only a handful of pros who I'd say have done well with every celeb they've been given. It's just that Helen was great raw materials to work with and it didn't go as well as it could have.

I didn't hate her Les Mis routine though - I think the main issue was her face throughout it. I mean she's an actress, she should have been able to sell it more but I found, for me, she very rarely got the character of the dance she was given and that was the main issue with her & their partnership for me.
