Ha ha! Yes, that's spot on.

I adore Nigella and Hugh F-W. I watch everything they do and for some reason, I find I can watch the repeats over and over. Their books are eminently readable too. I think it's because they're not 'chefs' per se, so their personalities, recipes and cooking environments are more relatable.

Their isn't anyone else I make a point of watching really. The first TV chef I followed was Gordon Ramsay, right from Boiling Point up to about the second series of Kitchen Nightmare, when it suddenly occured to me that his TV persona is all an act. I couldn't see him in the same way after that and the appeal instantly faded. Similar story with Tom Kerridge. I got into him because, like Hugh and Nigella, he's less stuffy and pretentious, more blokey, but after reading how he nastily trolled someone who gave the restaurant of a friend of his a less than glowing review, I went right off him.

If you like Jay Rayner, walter, I can recommend this book - very funny.
An account of his worst dining out experiences.

Thanks for the link. I've read most of his books but not that one.

While waiting for 8 out of 10 cats does countdown to come on I flicked channel 4 on early and that Turkey Twizzler stealing buffoon Oliver bloke and his "boyfriend" Jimmy was on! Trying to tell us all to start eating Herring lol. All he had to do to get people to eat it was pour half bottle of olive oil and a shed load of salt and fry it. They served it in a trendy fast food cafe and loads of people were going mmmmmm so nice. Looked vile served with crispy burnt skin and salad!
