Samsung UHD Blu Ray Player (UBD-K8500)
The brand new Samsung Ultra HD Player is due to be released in the states in mid February and the first 4K UHD discs are released on 1st March.
Thinking about importing one of these as there is no sign of any date of release for the player or the discs in the UK. Only problem is Customs and Excise sting you badly with import duties (50% of cost in total) so don't know if I should wait. Any information out there folk? |

Panasonic will be releasing the DMP-UB900 in Spring, and very well featured it is too, HDR, BT2020 support, twin HDMI outputs to separate video and audio for those receivers that are not fully 4k compliant and a 32-bit/192-kHz onboard DAC for HD Audio with DSD and ALAC support. No prices as yet.
Personally I'd wait, discs aren't due till spring anyway, and they will be few and far between to start with. Mad Max Fury Road is expected to be the first title, UHD HDR and Dolby Atmos, things are looking good. |
