Radio X Playlist

Quite like listening to Radio X, but I do think the playlist is a little bit repetitive. Anyone else know what I mean?

It is, but it is owned by Global, home of the repetative playlist.

And even though I was gutted about Bowie's death I hope that they start to cut down a little soon in that area.

I do. Same old songs played too often and not enough new music being played.

The playlist seems even more restrictive than the station it replaced, XFM.

I've enjoyed hearing the Bowie songs the past week or two but I do think it's time to move on as the same handful are now the only ones they ever play.

The one thing I've found a bit disappointing with Radio X is that after 7pm the station still seems to mainly use the daytime playlist. I'm sure XFM used to give more new music a chance after 7pm. It would be nice to hear something that isn't one of the usual suspects.

The one show I enjoy in terms of music variety is the late evening show on Fridayand Saturday nights - some real gems being played, such as Rolling Stones, Linkin Park, Whitesnake

The weekender on xfm was better. They also used to have Propaganda which was another great show. And the best show on xfm by far was the Remix with Eddy Temple Morris. And it used to be stereo on DAB.

Radio X, Smooth, Gold, Heart and Classic FM all owned by Global all have repetitive playlists. Quite frankly that is the only way Global know how to operate. Either put up with it or tune elsewhere as its unlikely to change.
