Now Il admit I don't know much about him other than his death and the cause, and of course his music.

I was just browsing youtube when I came across this video of him.

He strikes me as a proper music fan, he had all the talent and character of what makes a true legend.

He comes across as a very decent bloke who could make people feel at ease in his presence.

Part 2 https://youtu.be/PnsiSjsSNYQ

We really don't have many stars if any at all like him today, the nearest I woukd suggest is robbie Williams.

My darling Freddie

May he rest in peace.

This was the day he stunned the world with his brilliance

(Set aside 25mins and marvel at the awesome talent that was Freddie Mercury.)

Robbie Williams is more Freddie Starr than Freddie Mercury.

He was not necessarily the best singer in terms of voice and song writing, and Queen were not necessarily the best in terms of musical ability eg

(just my personal view)

Best singer - Roy Orbison

Best guitarist - Jim Hendrix

Best drummer - Ginger Baker

Best writer - Bob Dylan

Best band for albums - Pink Floyd

(Slightly tongue in cheek here) - Best live band for fun - Slade/Madness (musically crap but seriously entertaining)

Best awesome live band - YES WITHOUT A DOUBT - Freddie Mercury and Queen.

Freddie was brilliant and one of the greatest showmen, but one should not underestimate the whole package of Queen, that made them undoubtedly do the best concert I ever saw (expect perhaps Jimi Hendrix as a solo performance on Isle of Wight).

Freddy had an amazing voice, deep powerful and textured, he puts most singers live performances to shame with it.

Let me clear something up. Talent wise robbie Williams is a million miles away from freddie, showman wise he is pretty much similar. He puts on quite a show.

His guitar "never played the chords he wanted it to play".

If Freddie was still alive I reckon that Queen would be the biggest band in the world.

If Freddie was still alive they'd be the cabaret band they were always destined to be.
