Gemma doesn't bother me one way or the other, but that was so fixed there was nothing good about it - because it was so bloody obvious. Still, it is nice that there are innocent people who will believe anything

If you don't think it was fixed, re-watch the clip on the website. See how often the camera focuses on Gemma (and her smug git of a face) as opposed to Steph, or the other housemates for that matter.

Clearly, the boxes all go off on demand, rather than by the handle (obviously, or else the gold mask wouldn't come last), so those claiming a fix is impossible are probably the ones that are a bit low on the old intelligence quotient.

Actually, I'd say anyone who finds Gemma to be admirable or likeable in anyway is probably on the 'simple' side, rather than those who despise her.

Why would they bother to fix it for Gemma to be immune? She came top three tonight and votes are what matters to them and profit. Think they would probably prefer her to be involved in the eviction voting, especially Gemma v John or Steph.

Looking on Facebook that seems to be the case to my eyes.
It's barely worth arguing with this people as your own brain cells will slowly die.”

Why don't you devise an IQ test to test the theory?

The votes don't bring in that much money compared to other sources of revenue for the show. They will make far more money from advertising, ratings and press coverage with Gemma still in the house, than risk her being voted out just for the relatively small revenue increase they'd get with her involved in the public vote.

The stupidity of thinking they'd go to all the trouble to "fix" this so that Gemma was immune is mind-boggling. It has nothing to do with liking or not liking her. It has to do with logic. There are many much easier ways they could give her immunity - I mean, it sounds like there will be further things in the coming days.

And why, when she's always been among the top vote getters at evictions, would they want to give up the money they make from all those people who are voting for her? I'm sure they'd rather spend a bunch of money on some illusion to give her immunity, and give up the money they'll make from votes for her to stay. That just doesn't make sense. At least not to anyone with even a half-way logical brain.

a halfway logical brain can see plain as day this was a stich up. Everything on BB is these days.

The whole thing is carefully controlled by Big Brother, which kind of ironic, given the origin of the show's name

Even who gets evicted is ultimately decided by BB. We have the illusion of choice but it's all phony. Gemma was told beforehand which podium to stand by. Fact.

They producers told Gemma where to stand off camera. We all predicted she would be the one who got the immunity and though and behold she was.

Let's be absolutely clear - there is absolutely zero chance that was fixed. The consequences of rigging a TV show are very severe and there's no way the production team would risk their freedom to help Gemma. Let this be the end of the stupid conspiracy theories now.

I love it when people write about something that they don't know the meaning of
ie. IQ

What a strange post

Firstly, anyone who thinks that IQ is an accurate measure of intelligence is arguably, not very intelligent themselves, so there's that ...

Secondly, Anyone with a modicum of understanding can see how the task COULD have been fixed, And myself and others on her saw the result coming the second the task was announced (see posts!) - So the motive was apparent too.

Thirdly, (aurichie) While fiddling where a paid public vote is concerned, yes they could get in trouble, something like this wouldn't warrant any interest.

You say that like it's a fact.

Ah but she was only in the top three and how do you what the actual voting figures are? I personally would not vote for any of them and I am sure I am not alone so for all you know there may only be a small number of votes between the housemates and that booing was very loud last night.

If the bookies had offered say 7/1 the field.... there would have been a landslide betting Gemma. Fix, most certainly yes.

You're missing the point. Giving Gemma immunity is only half the story, Stirring up hate against her is the other half, so that next time she is up, angry people will frantically vote to save those that she is up against - and in reaction Gemma's fans will vote to save her ... Ka'ching!
