I'd really like Helen to get a win It looks like a really great show! That wig really is comically bad though

Glad to hear that because I still think they should have been in the final

Jay and Aliona were my second favourites though so good luck to them also but it would be sweet if everyone won at least once.

I haven't seen anyone complaining about Jay & Aliona winning every show. They've only won one (so far) -
Seems to me the only one whingeing around here is you as you seem pretty peeved that Anita & Gleb won one even though they were most likely deserving of it judging by various reports.

I've no doubt Jay will win most which is great as his Jive alone is a showstopper but it's nice that it looks like he has some competition in the form of Anita and hopefully some of the others will get an occasional win too.
To be honest/fair, it's not because of Anita or her dancing that they are winning some shows

If you are implying it is because of Gleb's outfit, such as it is, I think it is absolutely awful.

Why so much bitterness from certain quarters over Anita winning today? You know people do actually like her, she was always popular.

To be honest, I'm still surprised she ended up in the bottom 2- I knew so many people who were supporting her because they liked that she wasn't trained and admired that she just threw herself into everything. Her dances are huge crowd pleasers and they both definitely know how to put on a show! Gleb seems to be going down particularly well

And you know that? ... Have you conducted a survey to see which half of a partnership people's votes are going?

I for one would be voting for them both regardless of what Gleb was wearing and I suspect a lot of others do too.

I think non Anita/Gleb fans are just looking for reasons as to why they're winning and can't admit that they are just very popular with the public and have two very good, and very crowd pleasing dances.

Gleb knows how to put on a crowd pleasing performance and hide (to a certain degree) lack of technique/dancing ability in Anita by pulling people's attention to himself and by making it a spectacle - and yes, that includes (his) outfits, gleb specials, playing to his own strengths to hide Anitas (dancing) weaknesses.

exhibit A) the paso - low on dance content, high on dramatic staging.

So you implying people only see him as a dancing ken doll as soon as they are not (100%) supportive of him as a SCD pro really says more about you than about me.

And before you imply I don't like Anita: Albeit not the best dancer, she knows how to follow his lead and put on a good show - the one created by Gleb.

NB: Didn't say they don't derserve to win shows.

Her popular vote was weakened in the semi-final by the dreadful music they got stuck with and by Georgia getting sympathy for being ill and having been in the DO the previous week (my theory).

I think (but I might be plucking this out of thin air, so take this with a large pinch of salt) I read from one of the Strictly choreographers that Gleb actually chose the Salsa music himself. Maybe he felt which way the wind was blowing and decided that they couldn't leave without doing a showdance I agree with you on the bounce for Georgia though.

Or she just wasn't good enough on the night. Georgia quite possibly did get some sympathy vote, but even with much less training she danced better than Anita.

I don't think it's exaggerating to say that Gleb is popular with female voters - anyone can tell that. And obviously some people do vote for reasons other than dance, especially on the tour.

I don't care that she's winning shows, the tour doesn't count for anything and quite often the series winner doesn't do well, but I don't think she's winning because her dances are the best - crowd-pleasing, yes, for more reasons than one, but good? Well, that's subjective, but she wouldn't rank in the top half if I ranked the dancers on the tour.

Anita could only have been third in the public vote (maximum) to end up in the dance off which is probably likely (after Jay and Georgia in all likelihood).

Also, I do think that having Georgia and Helen in the dance off the week before made people say the better dancers need to be in the final. And Anita was one of the two weaker ones - with Katie.

Good find that tweet, as I do give it more amount of credit to ithis tweet than just random comments (no offence to anyone, but you know what I mean)
.Anita did mention that at the start of the show Gleb did ask her about her favourite current song and she said it was one that was sampled in her salsa song so Gleb sort of made it happen for her (as the one she mentioned was wholy unsuitable for any of the strictly dances). But even then, I didn't think it was really his choice.

For the record, I do really like Gleb (personality wise I thing he is taking everything with humour), but ambivalent towards Anita (there are things I like of her, but the st Anita of the untrained, ungainly dancing and pulling faces puts me off).

My ideal final would have had Helen instead of Kellie and probably Anita instead of Katie, but the latter one I would not have mind either way.

bib I agree.
I also would say that the tour is an opportunity to win the glitter for the one who is perceived as being "robbed" (whether true or not). As Kellie isn't doing the tour, that crown is for Anita. Not that I believe that anyone was robbed this year (except probably Jamelia in her dance off).

I was in the audience yesterday and for sheer enjoyment of both dances, Anita and Gleb were the best.

I am a female and am not shallow enough to be swayed by what Gleb is or in this case, isn't wearing and good though she was, Mel was overdoing the 'isn't Gleb gorgeous' routine the same as Claudia and Zoe did in their respective shows.

I am capable of seeing the routine as a whole and not just in terms of Gleb's dishabille. Jay was my favourite throughout the series but I enjoyed Anita and Gleb more yesterday, to be honest.

I was very disappointed that they used a 'joke wig' during the iconic Jive, it spolt it for me and I had so looked forward to it.

Interesting! Based on their ITT interview before, I'm not completely convinced it was all his choice, but I also wouldn't be surprised.

Over the last few weeks I've watched the entire previous series and it was striking how similar the storylines are, such that I'm inclined to believe that the producers do try to develop certain arcs and that Gleb knew it was their time.

As he's dancing in group dances throughout the show before the jive, he couldn't even wear his hair just slicked back and sprayed black ( which would be better than the wig ). And his natural hair is much shorter now than when he danced it originally in week 3, so there isn't enough of his own hair to attach a clip - on ponytail to. Maybe they'll abandon the wig altogether and just slick it back in a quiff like a Teddy boy as the tour goes on, but then they couldn't do the routine with Len afterwards. Shame it spoilt the dance for you as it's going down a storm and scoring full 10's

I guess Craig had to negotiate hard for Jay and Aliona to do the JIve on the Tour, and having it as the last dance is the biggest selling point for the Tour.
So I would expect Craig to be trying to supply 'The best dance evah!' rather than turn it into a comedy dance.

Reports suggest Jay's outfit is too big for him and the wig is both fake looking and loosely attached to fit in with a comedy sketch after the dance.

Their dancing should be good enough and Aliona seems to be dressed correctly, so it sounds like they need to sort out Jay's look during the dance, and if they can do that and restrict the comedy until after the dance has finished, the Show will be the better for it.

Anita and Gleb have 2 great dances for a Tour. The choreography is very theatrical.

Jay in theory has the best dance on Tour if they sort his costume, but the Rumba is a difficult dance to make work on a Tour. Rachel and Vincent succeeded. I think J&A's could be tweaked a bit to make it work better in a big venue. It worked well on TV, but the Tour requires 'bigger' expressions.

Overall how does it rank with other years? Is Jake doing his Salsa and what is Frankie doing? Comedy value?
Sorry lots of questions at once but disappointed not to be going this year as it seems particularly strong this time.

I don't think it's surprising that Anita's doing so well on the tour. She spent two weeks at the bottom of the Leaderboard without touching the dance-off whilst others (Kellie/Helen/Georgia) with much stronger Leaderboard rankings couldn't avoid it. I believe she was voted most popular contestant in the Monkseal poll, too. There was a whole lot of outrage when she didn't make the Final, and throughout the Final many comments about the evening missing them and their showdance. Plus they have high-powered dances that, together with Georgia's Charleston and The Jive, translate best on a stage in front of a huge audience.

It's nice to see her have her moment. Would be lovely to see Helen get a win as well, at some point.

The whole Tour is really a Show for fun - all pairs are certain to win at some stage as it's not very serious.

Bet Ainsley will win at least one. (Hope so, I like Natalie and it sounds as if she'll soon be better.)

Think you are right about Anita - people rightly gave her credit for her hard work and enthusiasm in the TV programme. Her dances are great for an Arena (though did think Gleb over-did the choreography for the TV programme.)

Contestants usually do well in their local area. Think Jay and Aliona will do well anyway with their lovely rumba and great Jive, but especially in Nottingham. Georgia and Giovanni's super Charleston should do well, particularly in Manchester.

Bit surprised Helen and nice Aljaz didn't do better this weekend with their lovely Waltz as Helen's from Birmingham - but perhaps she's been away too long. But they'll almost certainly win at some stage.
