Overall how does it rank with other years? Is Jake doing his Salsa and what is Frankie doing? Comedy value?
Sorry lots of questions at once but disappointed not to be going this year as it seems particularly strong this time. Jake doing Salsa & Samba, sorry don't know scores, but he and Ainsley always bottom 2 on leaderboard. Think Helen and Frankie are about 3rd & 4th on leaderboard, chop and change about each time. Georgia and Anita vying for 2nd place behind Jay. Jay won the first night, came 2nd to Anita yesterday. |

Hi everyone, I just want to quickly pop in and say hello and introduce myself. I'll post more later on.
My name is Sarah and I've been lurking and reading in here for a long time but never post or joined as didn't feel I could add much more to all your brilliant posts. However, the tour posts have been so exciting and riveting that I felt I had to join in. I'm going to the tour at Liverpool on the 2nd February at 7pm. Jay was my favourite last series and favourite contestant ever and Aliona has been my favourite pro since she started - I always joke about my girl crush on her. Anyway, I'll post more in time (it takes forever to catch up on the posts on here hehe) I just want to say what a great job all those feeding back about the tour have been doing, thank you so much. Also Rachel with the thanksgiving page - amazing, I shall be donating next payday. Good to get to know you Jalionists.

Georgia said on Google that she has a snap chat account - trouble is I don't know what it is. Just that snap chat seems to be a popular way of communicating currently. If she had a big snap chat campaign she'd get more votes.

Good win for Jay tonight - although it could easily have been Anita - huge cheers and foot stamping for their 'ghost' routine. Went with an open mind. And after a 420 mile round trip, I would have done that distance just to see THAT jive! - the only other time I've felt that wowed was watching Jill and Darren's jive, and I haven't missed a tour!

I was there last night
. Yes, Jay and Aliona won and Gleb (+ Anita) second. I would have liked Helen to have done better in the voting as I thought she was the best dancer and she's a native Brummie apparently.Helen told us that her ballet teacher was in the audience - a Mrs Hassle, presumably not a young woman. I was very unimpressed with Mel's "comedy" comments towards Mrs Hassle, and sorry for poor Helen who was obviously mortified. I know most people seem to be enjoying Mel but I could have done without her and her patronising attitude, personally. The judges were all good value though, complete with both Bruno and Len saying words that had to be apologised for! Apart from Mel it was a great show and lots of fun. I spotted Jay and Aliona playing "scissors paper stone" near the beginning which was sweet. Frankie looked a bit weary at times but is amazing for four months post birth. Ainsley completely forgot his tango routine and freestyled most of it - Karen threw herself to the floor at the end in mock despair. His tomatoes were OK though . G+G very professional. But Helen's VW was mesmerising.A fun evening all round, to everyone who's going later - you'll love it! |

I'd like to see someone else win. Anyone else? Jay is still good but he's won the series and four of the tours so far. Isn't it about time someone else wins. Hopefully we'll see a different winner tonight. Hope Helen wins when I go on Friday

I went to the show last night, and thought it was the best one yet. Jay and Aliona were brilliant, but so were all the couples, (even Ainsley was good).
I really loved Mel hosting the show. She was funny, without making it all about her. I think she'd be a good addition to the main show. I've been to the show for the last few years, but this was easily the best. |

I understand what you are saying but it is up to the audience at the venue to vote for their favourites and, so far, it has been Jay and Aliona (4 times) and Anita and Gleb (twice). Maybe as the tour goes on other couples, when they are near their home towns, will get a look in.

I agree it's not really Jay and alionas fault that the audience love there dancing.. No ones putting any pressure on the audience to vote for them to keep them in another week this is all just for fun as everyone keeps repeating.. And I have no doubt that other couples will have their win

I doubt anyone would think its Jay and Alionas 'fault.' (apart from the fact people love them so much). In fact, Jays a lovely guy, and very good friends with them all (and knows how good they all are at dancing) and its very much a team of friends behind the scenes. I could quite easily believe that he'd prefer not to be voted winner day after day too (I certainly would prefer not to if I was in his position) and from reports, he seemed extremely delghted when Anita won. I can understand why. Of course people are going to have their favourites and its up to them who they vote for (they are paying for it!). But as you said, the competition is over, which Jay won. But if Jay wins practically all of them with others not getting a chance at even a night of celebration, I'd say it would become a little less fun. It would be nice to see the likes of Georgia and Helen who dance so well to be given a little bit of recognition. We all know its not that important, but just a chance for them to have their celebration. I think they more than deserve that. I hope I'm speaking too early and people do recognise the others. I don't care if Jay wins 98% of the wins on tour...would just like to see a few of the others have their moment, if only for the one night.

Incidentally I'm pleased that Jay has an early lead of wins on the tour, this would suggest he's the most popular series winner for a while as neither Abby or Caroline did that well on the tour... I think Abby only won one show if I remember correctly? |
