Donna being a one-year deal was because Catherine Tate was so incredibly popular and busy, they thought they'd only be able to get her for one year. She later said that she'd loved doing it so much, she would have stayed on past S4, and RTD said if he'd known that he would definitely have kept her longer.

On topic: Can't think of anything that needs to be revisited. Missy's holiday on Skaro might inspire Moffat's departing arc plot. Ashildir probably won't return but could. Can't think why Gallifrey need be involved as that was pretty much wrapped up. I suppose if the finale is a regeneration story then the Sisterhood may turn up to assist.

But mostly I'm just waiting for the mystery of Rory's hospital pass to be resolved. And what was it with Amy's staircase?

I did wonder today whether the Minister of War could prove to be a plot element that returns in Series 10.

Of course it could just be a throwaway line in Whithouse' Before the Flood but equally it was mentioned alongside some fairly massive Earth-based developments and so could equally be something huge that Moffat simply asked Whithouse to seed in to the script.

The only other thing that makes me think this is a possibility is that Moffat seems to be running with the 'war' theme for the Twelfth Doctor. Series 8 explored his viewpoint on soldiers, whether he himself was a good man, the idea that he was a 'good dalek' and so on. Series 9 then explored him coming home as a 'war hero', his anti-war speech is perhaps his most iconic moment of all and so on.

If the Hybrid hadn't done the same sort of thing so poorly already, it'd be fun to consider the Minister of War as a 'whodunnit' kind of scenario where we're left wondering which character is quietly pulling the strings. It could've been Ashildr, or Davros, or Missy or Rassilon now makes a very intriguing candidate, or indeed someone wholly new.

But your point on her being unpopular was because DW fans are nuts.

Or if that wasn't your point, then it was completely irrelevant.

SIgh Donna was amazing lol still remember that "Its like you have a box and he has a ferrari" or something like that. And her saying "Yes hes very skinny" when Agatha Christie asked if theres room in that Blue Box oh and "You just want to mate, well your not matin' with me sunshine!" ahh the bants.

My guess is Rassilon. The Doctor banished him from Gallifrey and it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine he's off somewhere planning his revenge on the Doctor and scheming to regain power on Gallifrey. He might even team up with Missy. It'd be a tough choice as to which one would betray the other first.

I wasn't a big fan of the 10th Doctor and much of RTD's take on the show irritated me. But Donna was gold. Classic companion. Up there with Barbara, Sarah Jane, Leela, Zoe and Jamie for me.

Yeah people say Donna just did her whole shouting and Lauren Cooper "Wotever Mate" routine but she was more than that she had her emotional moments and truly was a friend of The Doctor she also remembered to have a good time which every companion should. And I loved how we see her going from someone who thinks shes unimportant and is loudmouthed because the world won't listen to someone who becomes the most important being in the universe, someone who cares (Planet of the Ood(, (Fires of Pompeii), etc. And someone who wasn't in love with him but was like a sister, she also joined the biggest family on earth and she knew how much she was loved after travelling with The Doctor before being mindwiped. But atleast she got a happy ending Donna Temple-Noble....

Sounds like a Tourist Spot...
