Any one else here have the EE HOME 4GEE package is it the cheapest prices for data I am not talking about the one off 100gb christmas sim or EE mobile broadband package the home 4gee tariffs are different they also have larger data add ons available and have also been told it has better network priority than other EE data packages

I have the payg £99 home 4gee huawei b593 that cost me £99 last year and its been rock solid I have been buying the 20GB data adons for £25 on this,

Also have just taken delivery of the huawei e5180 on the 50GB data package got it for £40 per months £4 off the bill per month,

Any one know if O2 or Vodafone provide any thing like this in the uk, The only thing i can see data wise on 02 is on payg data sims you get double data untill feb so 16GB for a £26 top up instead of 8GB

24 month contract though - ridiculous. It's not as if they have to recoup a massive investment in hardware you get you on board!

That router is only Cat 4, which is a shame. Huawei does do a Cat 6 one but I don't know if it's widely available, bar Amazon and the like?

I'd not want to sign up to a lengthy contract now that we've had the bar lifted to 150Mbps and no doubt that will rise in due course. For home or office use, fast speeds are far more important and useful.

But I saw the £27.50/50GB deal in the EE Westfield Stratford store and didn't realise it was a 24 month contract. Ouch!

Still, at least EE is starting to offer a range of tariffs comparable to those 100GB SIMs at last.

They just need to keep going...

cat 6 is only in use in some places two years time might be a different story,

I think in a few years we will see a lot more products that do the higher speeds but for now the huawei mains powered router is fine for 99% of people with no landline or slow adsl if ee supplied the more expensive ones now the monthly tariff would be bigger on home 4gee tariff

Agreed, the price is a problem.

Interestingly even in single band areas (1800 on EE) I'm finding Cat 6 devices manage to achieve faster speeds than Cat 4 devices. I'm guessing this is due to better radio circuits and better optimisation in the newer hardware. (Qualcomm and HiSilicon chipsets are my two Cat6 devices, and Cat4 I have two Qualcomm devices).

I'm not saying Cat 4 is no good at all, but I'd still buy Cat 6 now. I can use it at home for one, and between now and contact renewal I'm sure many more would be able to as well.

Yes, although maybe they have stock to get rid of - and the 4G+ rollout has only just started - I'm hoping a lot more places will get the "purple" treatment on the coverage map this year.

Oddly EE use the same colour for 2G as 4G+ so you might want to be careful what you wish for!

Due to our rural location we also have to use 3G for all our internet (no 4G in our area yet).

I have tried a few routers and dongles, but the http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B009...ords=3g+router is by far the best. I have installed a big solwise antenna on the roof that makes a huge difference (cost £90).

For the last 5 years we have used Three. Currently I have 4 SIMs which I hot swap (2x 20gb and 2 x 15gb, plus a back up PAYG one). I get a bit of discount, but it's a little more expensive than EE. However Three give much better performance - lower pings, twice as fast, way more consistent, less drop outs - but most importantly less data shaping and throttling, which was a problem on EE (download too much and it drops to almost dial up speed - never get this on Three). I did enjoy EE's 100gb Christmas deal but it reminded me how much better Three is (in my area anyway)mane how annoying the throttling is. Shame Three won't give me just one sim with all the data on, even if I pay the same - three are a pain in the ass to deal with, and their foreign call centres can be a nightmare (communication should be good considering their are a communications company).

It will be interesting to see what BT will do now they are buying EE, as they had talked about using 3/4g to connect areas which fibre won't reach for a while now.
