When to unlock a phone - abroad
I will be spending the next few weeks in Prague and so have bought a Czech SIM card. When I put it into my phone it says that I need to unlock the phone, do I get the unlock code from my uk network (EE) or from the Czech network?

Thanks - so I DO go through that process rather than getting a code from the Czech network?

Unlock code from EE is £8-99p but you might get a code from EBay for a lot less.
That’s said I bought a Nokia 635 from EE about 4 months ago and the EBay unlockers wanted £22 to unlock it but the same model had it been locked to o2 or Vodafone would have cost less than £2 however the phone was £20 cheaper on EE so swings and roundabouts. In a way I got it unlocked for free in the end by using the compulsory top up that came with the phone. |

You would probably get the unlock code quicker on eBay, meaning in a matter of minutes or hours. EE says it can take up to 10 days and I don't know if you can wait that long for one. Cost is £8.99.
