Geri Horner 'nee' Halliwell (ginger spice) - new album coming soon

Why isn't everybody talking about this!?! Really looking forward to it, its been overdue. What is your favorite Geri Halliwell song? She is one of the greats that paved the way for acts like Cheryl Cole, promoting girl power and showing you can be brave and go it alone.

Scream If You Want To go Faster - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wl0GDZIntB0

Her voice was at its best in "Lift Me up" where she gives even Whitney Houston serious competition. The chorus still sends chills down my spine.

Probably nobody is talking about it because nobody really cares anymore? She seems like a lovely woman but her music is just meh. Her last song was crap and bombed in a massive way.

I know they don't like to admit it, the Spice Girls really aren't music attractions in 2016. At least Victoria understands that

With 11 number one singles (seven as part of the Spice Girls and four as a solo artist) she is the female singer with the third most number one singles in UK Singles Chart history

People do care about Geri. Sadly, these days you need radio play to get into the charts. and radio stations snub lots of established artists. Even Erasure were making music well into the late 00's but people think of them as an 80s group because they failed to get radio play. Rednex is another example. and Sandi Thom getting snubbed by radio 2.

If Geri got as much play as Justin Beiber, her lead single from this upcoming album would be HUGE.

Yeah but her last #1 was released almost 15 years ago, I think they might have stopped caring by now. Maybe I'm wrong and she will be a huge success but I feel like she'll probably see the success that she saw in 2013. And by that, I mean none.

Even when Whitney was on drugs she would outsing Geri at any occasion

Bag it up was fun, but she definately does not define a year. Much more likeable than the awful Mel C music wise though

Oh come on. Even if you're the biggest Geri fan in the world, you can't have typed that with a straight face. Woman who can just about hold a tune being compared to one of the best vocalists in history - and I don't even like Whitney!

Though I'm sure Kenny will be along soon to agree with you

The perception of many will be that she's a 43 year old "Spice Girl."
So not many people will be interested.

Oh for goodness sake she's an ex Spice Girl who released some catchy pop songs which did not require much vocal talent over a decade ago, she got lucky as she was in the right time at the right place...hardly Whitney Houston,

And remember that single she released a few years ago on Australia's Got Talent which sold about 300 copies about and saw her dancing with teddy bears whilst singing some weird rhyming words....absolute cringe. People now realise she is an attention seeking brat with next to none talent.

She's best off focusing her time on the upcoming Spice Girls reunion..

Its Raining Men was number 1 on the world chart for several weeks in 2001. I don't think Cheryl has come anywhere near to that.

For me her first album was brilliant, I think is a pure pop masterpiece but the two albums what followed were really weak.

I didn't rate 'Other Half Of Me' either but all the same I'm excited to hear new Spice Girl material.

I've always felt Geri has been ridiculously underrated as a vocalist. She has a beautiful, husky tone to her voice that she shows off to full effect on The Calling.

I always thought her voice suited the indie type of stuff better.

I think she sounds really good on this B Side from 1999

I think she (and the rest of it) sound truly dreadful.

If this was 12 years ago I would have been really exited, I loved Geri and was a distraught teen when she quit the Spice Girls and I thoroughly enjoyed her solo records at the time they came out, I'm sure I even proclaimed her 2nd album was a masterpiece back then.

But as someone in my 30s now, I have no enthusiasm for anything she might release, I no longer crave the kind of disposable pop crap I did all those years ago with a few exceptions aside.

Her solo records do not hold up very well at all and are very much a product of thier time, I actually cringe nowadays listening back to some of her lyrics (Feels like Sex anyone???)

I'm sure my 16 year old self would take down the 30s me today with my current views, it wouldn't wash at all.

But in all honesty I believe Geri should just stick with that possible reunion, I nor many would be interested in what she has to say in this day and age.

She's never been a good artist. She has a lot of personality and is has been somewhat of a feminist but musically she's rubbish. She can't sing, she can't dance and her solo material was poor.

She can't sing.

This is a bit mean, apologies.
I've always thought Geri should be grateful for having her success, which lets face it was through luck. She cant sing a note and her songs are terrible.

If anyone hasn't already heard you should check out her song "Love Never Loved Me" from her third album that didn't do very well.

It's an amazing song seriously and vocally she never sounded better.

I look forward to new material she is so much better than "Half of Me" when she gets it right.
