Tom Baker interview

His birthday the other day seems to have passed without comment on here which is surprising. But it prompted me to watch some of his old interviews and I found this beauty from 1997. It appears they did a whole series of them with Who stars of the past but for obvious reasons Toms is the best. The sound is rubbish but if you have good speakers/turn the volume right up and 90 minutes to spare its an absolute treat. Hysterically funny, rude, controversial and so engaging!

This man was my childhood hero and the first thing that made me fall in love with Doctor Who... not to mention he has the most magnificient voice in the world.

Him and PC are my fav docs
Sadly, I doubt he would do well with Todays DW audience.

If he was in his prime now as he was then I've no doubt he'd be astounding - even better than the first time with the effects and changed format, and he'd be a national treasure (again).

I once listened to this entire interview with my girlfriend and the two of us were as rapt and amused by Tom as the live audience to whom he was speaking.

He'd do well with any audience. I've never seen him speak and not captivate people. Television has changed but people haven't. in any time period he would have been a wonderful Doctor who.
