As distasteful and humiliating as it was for Stephanie, I can see why the producers aired that. It was the major event, leading to arguments and discussion throughout the day, and helps explain the dynamic of the house.

I thought John, Chris and Darren acted horribly by literally airing dirty laundry and spreading them all over the dining table (what was up with that?), but Daniella and Gemma even more so. I can't help but feel that if the underwear didn't belong to someone they were so eager to humiliate and belittle then nothing would have happened.

They would've done the same with anyone's dirty knickers. You think someone would've just had a quiet word with Scotty if they found skid marks in his pants? Don't think so!

They shouldn't have aired t simple as that

In housemates defence, Steph has been throwing her dirty clothes all over the place and she was wearing Megan's clothes when she had problems below, she could've gave her a yeast infection!

Still no need for that public humiliation no matter what

God it wasn't shit piss or blood , I would be more squeamish about a dirty handkerchief , what's wrong with people? Female bodily functions held up as dirty , disgraceful and worth the ridicule of men and women . I might expect this from sniggering school children , not adults.

You don't actually know what it was. Stephanie said she'd been having "problems down there", so clearly it is something out of the ordinary. No-one would bother if it was a normal discharge - men get that sort of staining in their knickers as well. She probably has some sort of infection. There's a reason humans have an instinctive reaction to things which appear gross. Those knickers should have been cleaned properly rather than being put into a bath other people use.

I have no sympathy for her. She's on a reality TV show sharing a house with a mixed group or strangers, and she's showing no consideration for them. Furthermore she doesn't give a toss about what the viewers think of her otherwise she'd not be behaving the way she is, so I don't know why anyone is bothered.

Personally, I would never in a million years leave soiled underwear lying around a shared house. I would have separated them from the other washing, taken them into the bathroom and scrubbed them. So, IMO Stephanie was wrong to just leave them lying around where others could come across them.

Having said that, the way it was dealt with by the other housemates was unnecessary. One of the women could have just taken her to one side and spoken to her about it.

As for the behaviour of the 3 'men'.....GROW UP...is all I can say about that!

I agree that airing it was an all time low by the producers.

Why should anyone have to take any other adult aside to talk to them about their personal hygiene issues. It is not school. It's a reality TV show.

I have no complaints about anyone's reaction. They were all grossed out and made a joke out of it. Far better that than be nasty about it. It's not a big deal.

I agree. It proved to me watching last nights highlight show how low this programme has actually become with this series.

It has changed so much since C5 took over and not in a good way. Awful.

3 men should not have been going through women's / girls soiled underwear, it was in the bathroom/washing basket, all they had to do was take their own stuff. They were nasty about it very very nasty.

Making a big laugh out of someone's dirty knickers knowing it's going out on tv is just vile. Gemma knew how to use this too her advantage in winding Danni and everyone up. The only one who had it right was Tiffany who accepted it was wrong and had John as the main culprit which was true. They are the most disgusting bunch of housemates in my opinion and there is bullying going on. Steph is going to be crucified for this on social media etc and it shouldn't have been shown, and this is from someone who doesn't like her but I dislike bullying behaviour even more.”

Pat , I couldn't have said it better love. I'm totally disgusted that she was shown up in this way for a Womans Natural bodily function, every female reading this will surely agree. White discharge on a female pants happens for a reason , it keeps the female clean below and the lubrication it causes is very healthy for penetration and very important for childbirth!
John, Christopher and Darren should feel ashamed for even bringing it up . Steph on the other hand should have kept her undies where only she knew where they were.

When Steph cried for her mum, I cried too. As someone who's been bullied all through primary school, secondary school and college, I recognise bullying when I see it.
When Daniella and Gemma came in and told everyone they loved them and ignored Steph, that was bullying. They completely left her out on purpose and no one understood why she felt so left out and upset, I really don't understand why no one stuck up for her.
And the knickers thing, was just completely humiliating and what everyone did to her was discusting.

I wish I was in the house just to give her a hug, no one should have to live in a house full of bullies and be made to feel that upset.
Big brother should have stepped in a long time ago

But why should they say they love Steph if they don't? It would be false.

Back to that episode (Megan the drama-queen's rant at John) why should it have been up to John to tell her. If it offended her so much - why didn't she just tell her?

That's the trouble with CBB - everyone has big voices and big egos - but absolutely no balls at all!

The poor girl is being torn apart and vilified across social media because if this, disgraceful BB producers, hang your head in shame.
And don't even start me on those 3 vile witches on the bed nastily sniggering about her behind her back, any normal girl would've realised how embarrassing this would be and tell the fellas to shut up about it, surely?”

i agree

Her messiness is one issue but their intent to humiliate is quite another. There is no excuse for that type of behaviour. None at all. It's bullying.

It's a perfectly normal thing for women and the lot of them need to grow the hell up. Stephanie is a monumentally irritating housemate but nobody deserves that. I'm a bit annoyed with Big Brother to be honest. They're just helping to make her a target for other cruel sexists/misogynists/plain stupid people.

Yes Stephanie was wrong to leave her dirty undies out for all to see; however, those z-listers behaved in a much more immature way. Their public humiliation of Stephanie was disgraceful.

As distasteful as some people in the house and on this forum seem to find it women's bodies secrete discharge. It is perfectly normal and I find it appalling that in the 21st century a woman should be humiliated for what her body does naturally. All of the female HMs will have thrown knickers into the laundry basket in exactly the same state and all of the male HMs who have lived with a female who has reached puberty will have had knickers with 'pigeon shit' in their laundry baskets.

The issue for some seems to be that Stephs underwear was in a communal laundry bin with people she did not know well. Aside from the fact that for most mature people this should not be a big deal, a couple of points in her defence:
1) A women is not always aware when this has happened. It's perfectly possible to discard a pair of knickers you think are spotless that closer inspection would show are not.
2) If you grow up in a house where this is not a big deal you simply wouldn't understand that this might offend others. We have bought our kids up to be totally laid back about this sort of thing. My 21yr old daughter chucks her underwear into the laundry where me, my husband or her 18 year old brother may be the one sorting out the laundry. She'd probably do the same thing in the CBB house and think nothing of it, so maybe Steph was bought up the same way.

I simply cannot understand the nasty reaction to this from the other HMs and people on this forum.

Agree with all you have said. But after this series who will ever want to go on this programme after they literally air your dirty laundry. I think BB is dead.
