From what I remember, Amira lied that she wasn't pregnant when Syed admitted he was gay at their housewarming party. As she left Walford, I think Chelsea sent her a text telling her to keep her baby. There was a little storyline before that where both thought they were pregnant and it turned out to be Amira. She returned about a year later with Yasmin in order to get Syed back (I think). Between a fling with Anthony Moon and seeing that Syed loved Christian she left again. She returned briefly in 2012 to facilitate Chryed's departure. I think they're meant to be sharing custody of Yasmin.

I wonder if this Abi one is real or fake in an attempt to keep Ben. I'd hate for them to go down this route. Mainly because Abi needs to be dumped and Ben needs to come out already.

Ben has a aleady come out which makes this storyline tiresome. They only got him with Abi so they could do another coming out story. Must think they are popular! I like Ben as a character and all this again with no doubt drunken/detoxing Phil being nasty is not progressing his character. Kathy will this time be the supportive one. If there is another baby storyline with Abi it really is revisiting time. Mind you going round in circles is the Mitchell family mantra.

I really hope Abi isn't pregnant. There was already enough pregnancies last year. Plus her sister Lauren is already a mum, I don't think there needs to be another Branning child so quickly. Abi is so unlikeable anyway. They need to build up Abi's downfall and then Max (when he's exonerated) and Lauren returning and washing their hands of her.

God I hate Ben. I thought he was finally turning a corner as a character with Kathy's return and then seemingly moving on with Paul. But no, an unwanted pregnancy. That's original.

I don't think so . For me Ben and Abi make perfect sense . Ben came out and went to prison shorty after that which prevented him from getting comfortable in his identity or finding a support system. His dad runs off after finding out and then has an "I can't change it so have to stand it but I wish I could change him" mentality about it . Phil was never going to be Mick but he couldn't even be Linda . Then he comes back from prison and wants to re do all that went wrong the last time .
And perfect Abi lost all she wanted to be and her hopes for her future within a few days while eternal screw up and attention hogging Lauren got all of that .
Ben and Abi were two vulnerable people who leached onto each other because they fill(ed) each other s needs .

I don't think Abi is pregnant yet but I could see her desperately attempting to get pregnant in order to keep Ben. And as Ben probably needs a two day warning to have sex with her, she may go elsewhere in order to conceive. Therefore she'll end up pregnant with some random guy's (or maybe an established character's) baby while lying to Ben that it's his. Or maybe she'll fake her pregnancy throughout and then try to get hold of a baby.

Either way, I think we'll be seeing plenty of crazy Abi over the next few months.

Quite. It is so tedious, but then everything about the Mitchells is. Phil has made it clear that he knows that Ben is gay, Ben has already spelt it out to Abi and everyone else knows. Putting him back in the closet just for the sake of it has made Ben and everyone else involved very dull. Now they're trying to spice it up with a fake pregnancy just to drag it out even more...we've seen it all before.

I really hope she's lying and gets found out in a month or two. Don't drag it out!!!

I'm thinking it's a fake pregnancy and she just drew the line on the test to make it look positive. I bet Ben can't go to the appointment with her because the doctors late and he needs to go and she just lies and hopes she can get him into bed and make a baby. I hate Abi. I wanted Ben and Paul to work out!

Cynics might say that it's an easy and convenient way for the writers to ditch a relationship between two young gay men that hasn't really grabbed viewer interest, and to clear the way for one or both of them to develop feelings for Johnny Carter upon his return.

I have a feeling she is pregnant but Ben is not the father. I think she had a one night stand while away and purposely did not use protection. A plan she came up with as an attempt to keep Ben. This will delay Ben coming out for a few more months, until Abi either confesses or sadly suffers a miscarriage.

Spot on. It's dull. Who cares. It's another plot driven storyline. They've created Paul for just this purpose. As for Abi and Jay for that matter they've messed about for this to play out. Abi knows full well Ben is gay. Jay knows Ben is gay yet he's happily played along letting Ben use Abi the girl he's cared about for years. It really is stuff like this in recent times that has damaged characters.
