Interesting to see the rating for the superb Despicable Me 2, somewhat thrown away by ITV I reckon. Why a wet weekend in February rather than a more special date?

Excellent start for Takeaway. Should be comfortably over 7 million with +1. Nicely up on last year and its biggest rating since 2013 (the first series of the revived run) and it may have beaten all bar one episode from that season too. A really good start after an underwhelming run last year.

Presumably they wanted a good lead-in for Takeaway. They didn't promote it unfortunately which was daft of them but I can see the logic. It'll repeat well anyway, I'm sure they'll run it again at Christmas.

Big ouch....

The Voice UK - 5.51m (24.2%)

.@antanddec's #SaturdayNightTakeaway back with 7.4m/33% share - up by nearly 1m viewers yr on yr. Peak of 8.1m viewers.

That is a brilliant rating for SNT. A sizeable rating for ITV! Who'd have thought it?

Yikes that's pretty dire for a big movie premiere! Expected more around 3.5-4m. I imagine +1 may have been quite big though and tapechecking will have helped as it ended very early.

No promotion won't have helped at all, people probably just thought it was yet another repeat of the first one. Makes Takeaway look more impressive though.

Ouch! Got walloped by Takeaway then, a real reversal from last year.

ITV have a mountain to climb with this one. At this point you wonder if it might even be worth delaying it for a year to give the genre some breathing space. A big revamp and push might work out I gues but it's looking more difficult by the week.

It'll definitely play second fiddle to Takeaway in the schedules.

Not sure if the rating I posted is tape checked or not. Someone here will know.

Fantastic start. It's the second biggest rating of the revived run, only behind an episode which aired during that huge bout of snow we had in 2013. Amazing.

It was a terrific show last night too and next week has a lead-in from England in the Six Nations so should hold up well.

Perhaps it needed tapechecking? The 5.51m is full slot.

Yea, it will be very interesting to see how they play it.

Dreadful for such a smart, funny and gorgeous-looking film. ITV clueless yet again.

Not remotely. They used it as a family friendly lead-in to a big returning brand. They could have got more out of it with promotion but it'll repeat well.

Movies aren't so much a priority for ITV, they don't tend to make such a fuss. They've probably got their Christmas Day 3.10pm offering sorted but managed to get a bit of extra value out of it first.

A quality film premiere deserves more respect than being the warm-up man for the Fivehead Twins. It was thrown away in that slot. I recall speculation here last year that it would be taking a prominent slot on a key date this year, Xmas?
