It wasn't that tough a slot at all. Will be over a million in consolidated but Fresh Meat is rating where it usually has for several series.

Can I join the club too?

I am the same. Can never understand what they are saying. To me, they are like children who need to be put on the naughty step...they have never grown up..cannot abide them and avoid them as much as possible.

I'd like to join this gang, too!

They're held up as the modern Morecambe & Wise/the Two Ronnies when they're nothing remotely like them. They're unwatchable.

I think they will throw enough on screen to make it a sucess but inevitably it probably wont be as big as the original prompting the usual moaning.

Any ratings for OJ Simpson vs The People yet?

Really good drama on BBC 2 with some big actors. Why the BBC have tucked it away on BBC 2 with very little advertising whilst having repeats of New Tricks on the same timeslot on BBC 1 is beyond me.

I disagree! I thought there wasn't enough Chummy tbh. Series 1 she was there, Series 2 she left for more than half the series, Series 3 she was there but not doing too much midwifery IIRC and Series 4 she left again for several episodes. Now she's not in Series 5 at all. I wouldn't describe her as dominant at all, other characters such as Trixie are more prominent IMO.

Part of the BBC cuts? Can't afford to keep paying James huge wages so the hidden excuse going on to do better things?

"Other projects" probably means he's been poached by itv to front itv's new Saturday morning cookery show and itv's The Nation's Favourite Cook series, loosely inspired by The Great British Bake-Off. Announcement from itv Press Centre imminent, I suspect.

BBC being typically careless in now losing both Bill Turnbull and James Martin from their morning line-ups.

It does really look like the savings they've made on On Screen Talent will come through on screen, I really hope it triumphs because I really hate that people don't seem to understand that Clarkson was sacked for a reason and think he should still be there

Bill Turnball is around retirement age and he said he wanted to leave BBC Breakfast. He has a new daytime quiz on BBC1 soon.

James Martin going to.another channel wouldn't surprise me after reading that press release.
