I think we already know about these, but Radio Times Extra has the following down as its picks for February and March: Happy Valley, The Night Manager, The X-Files, Scott/Bailey, Doctor Thorne.

Really don't get why Corrie is higher than EE and Emmerdale as they are both miles ahead in Quality.

7m is good for EastEnders though and its in great form. Corrie is so poor.

Scott & Bailey will follow on after Benidorm. Doctor Thorne I suspect will go on Thursday after Jericho, although it is another period drama so might end up on Sunday's?

Be interesting to see how Michael Portillo's new railway series rates.

It starts in the very same slot as his Great British Railway Jouneys (M - F 6.30 pm BBC 2) immediately after this run (series 7) ends on Friday.

So Great American Railroad Journeys runs for 3 weeks starting next Monday.

Seems to be the same format and even has the American equivalent of Bradshawe's from the 19th century as a guide.

No, sorry, nothing from Mediatel.
The only figures we have are from ITV Media which were posted by dullagj2 yesterday.
They include +1 but, like Mediatel, are not tapechecked :

Emmerdale: 6.179m (33.0%)
Coronation Street (7.30pm): 7.308m (36.0%)
Coronation Street (8.30pm): 6.953m (32.0%) (would have been higher than this!)

This is why the soaps are invaluable to them, they appeal to lower class women, that is the demo available to them.

Looks he'll be using the US equivalent of a Bradshaw's. Given how huge the US is, they could easily get a few series out of it. I think if they do another primetime series, Australia would be a good location

I'm hoping The X Files doesn't end clashing with Happy Valley, 5 have done a great job promoting it on TV and billboard

I might be late to the party with this, but I've noticed the Ratings option has disappeared from the drop-down menu in the TV News section.

Doctor Thorne is one of a whole series of interlinked novels from Anthony Trollope and therefore could, I stress could, be planned as the first of several years' worth of output with international sales potential. That seems a safer fit for a Sunday than a Thursday - will 9 pm on Sundays be free once Vera finishes?

Churchill's Secret and Maigret are likely the next two dramas on Sundays though if Maigret is only 1 episode then you could fit in three episodes of Doctor Thorne

I assume they no longer doing it, Only what the thread gets now. Some ratings actually get posted on Twitter by number of sources at 09:30 but not the DS Twitter account. Digital Spy on Twitter isn't worth following at all as its looks like Buzzfeed.

Wales has a very little effect on the ratings, it's not a very big country.

Doesn't look like Tracey Ullman is going down very well, if it's dropped so much. I wonder if the new later time slot is partially the cause of this?

Looks like you're wrong as it's still rating strongly. Not as good as it once was, but if you axed everything that is lower than it once was, you'd have about 23 hours per day free.

Regarding Tuesday's, if they put a drama on, it'd be slammed as killing it off before it even starts. You'd be going on about bad scheduling for a start.
