ITV is a Car Crash. I guess it's a deal with the BBC not to compete?

Broadcast:

BBC1:
Silent Witness- 6.00m (25.3%)

BBC2:
The Real Marigold Hotel- 3.0m (12.6%). Over two thirds (68%) of the audience was aged over 45.

ITV:
Sugar Free Farm- 3.3m (14.8%). Almost two-thirds (63%) of the audience was female.
Saved- 1.0m (4.4%)

Channel 4:
The Mad World of Donald Trump- 1.6m (6.6%)

Channel 5:
Celebrity Big Brother: Live Eviction- 2.6m (11.0%)

E4:
Tattoo Fixers- 854,000 (3.6%). The show is averaging 809,000 (3.6%) after six of its 15-episodes – well ahead of the 526,000 (2.5%) slot average.

Fantastic for Tattoo Fixers still and great for CBB. Brilliant for Silent Witness as always and BBC2. Saved did very very badly.

That looks like some good scheduling, I was thinking that Mondays at 9pm would be best but not if up against Silent Witness so good to see they've managed to align the launch to start the week after Silent Witness finishes, and can see it doing well there.

Just spotted what appears to be the new Channel 5 logo on my TiVo box, I'm not sure I like it yet, as it's basically the number 5 made out of 5 blocks, much like the Channel 4 logo is the number 4 made out of blocks.

I actually like their current logo as it works so well for different shows, with versions for Gotham, The X-Files, Big Brother, Lip Sync Battle, Football League Tonight, 10,000 BC

It was actually very useful to be able to go through the list of articles to see archived ratings from the last few years. Now they've hidden that away too.

Interesting article about Football League Tonight's poor TV ratings on Channel 5 here:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/col...er-League.html

Essentially saying that Channel 5 are doing a perfectly decent job, and really trying to make it work, but given the appeal to the type of fans it's fairly hopeless for TV ratings.

I only just started watching The X Files. Weird as I am a big fan of those types of shows (Buffy, Supernatural, Grimm) etc.... but had never watched The X Files...I have another 198 episodes to go Then I can watch the new series. It's very 90s. Loving it.

Hope it returns strong for C5. It's had a lot of promo during CBB which is the best time to advertise. I predict 2.0m.

More like a total lack of imagination. Oh for ITV to get its mojo back ...

Even if it does, this series has done well the past couple of weeks or so to get as close to last year's numbers as it has. The show is basically still in rude health, despite the fact they are churning out two series a year and running out of relevant celebrities.”

This series has gone along really nicely without loads of intervention and information from the outside world unlike previous series. I agree I don't know why they decided on this task was it because they couldnt get Sam, Stephanie's boyfriend to go in ?

Except when the equivalent show was on BBC1 airing after MOTD it was getting 800,000 to one million viewers........

Siblings is doing relatively well on iPlayer (devices, not through TV).

94,902 for episode one, rising to 103,158 for the second. Top BBC II! show on TV Player Report (I think) yet doesn't make the channel’s BARB Top Tens.

They aired two episodes of that last year on Thursdays against Death in Paradise. Both got 3.3m overnights. If it could do that in the flopzone they'd be pretty pleased I imagine.

How's Lip Sync Battle (UK Series) been doing on Friday nights?

Very well. 1.5m-1.8m in the overnights and a further 700,000 via catchup.

It's one of C5's most watched entertainment shows ever so far (outside of BB).

1) BBC1 is the most popular channel in the country
2) It did not carry adverts on the BBC, obviously
3) A lot of viewers would have left it on in the background after MOTD, the most relevant lead-in it could possibly get.

So what point are you trying to make when you continually bring up what it used to get?

Just seen it over on TV Forum. Yikes, that's ugly. I hope it looks better than that onscreen.

The new look C5 must be very close. I expect it will go live on Monday 8th February before the X-Files launch.

Channel 5 look should be better on screen then off screen.

I'm impressed. I thought it would be getting around 1-1.2m per overnight and around 1.3-1.6m consolidated.

Proving all the naysayers wrong.

Now all we need is a Night Fever revival and my Saturday nights are complete!

The current look got negative response but looked great on screen. The 2008 rebrand was the best one IMO

Reads like excuses from a sports journalist who was in the audience of the second show of the season and wrote a sympathetic article...has the programme a younger and a family audience on C5?

Does the journalist have a friend who works on the show or something?

I thought the best imaging the channel had was 2002 onwards with the lowercase five. Simple but effective, and looked great.

Probably why they kept it for 6 years, and just freshened it up with new idents every couple of years.
