Regarding the films debate, it does seem very strange that at Christmas you often get maybe 4 films almost back to back in daytime on BBC1 but at Easter you don't get any. I wouldn't think it would be too much of a stretch to show one family film per day in daytime at Easter. Maybe one around 3pm wouldn't disrupt neither Bargain Hunt or Pointless.
I agree that films in prime time no longer cut it and come across as lazy though.”

The Best British Cooking Service! It gets a bit tiresome sometimes. Why couldn't they air the Bake Off spin off before the Masterchef series started? Perhaps swap it around with Back in Time For the Weekend.
Yes, you've made the point about Easter daytime films very well. It really wouldn't hurt to just show one on the Bank Holiday afternoons, or at teatime. I also by and large agree about films in primetime - unless it's a big movie premiere or a bank holiday. Then it doesn't really matter. After all, on some Bank Holidays we get repeats of New Tricks. So, why not show a film instead of that?
