That programme on Thursday looks very familiar to Pound Shop Wars on BBC1. Hmmm.

The BBC has been officially renamed as The Best British Cooking Service! It gets a bit tiresome sometimes. Why couldn't they air the Bake Off spin off before the Masterchef series started? Perhaps swap it around with Back in Time For the Weekend.

Yes, you've made the point about Easter daytime films very well. It really wouldn't hurt to just show one on the Bank Holiday afternoons, or at teatime. I also by and large agree about films in primetime - unless it's a big movie premiere or a bank holiday. Then it doesn't really matter. After all, on some Bank Holidays we get repeats of New Tricks. So, why not show a film instead of that?

But then there is no use whatsoever in having a higher audience if they can't show adverts. It's a double edged sword. It's just something ITV and Sky (as well as the others) have to live with.

London Palladium midweek is interesting, should do better not up against Countryfile, and with a Corrie lead in.

That Wednesaday night ITV schedule reminds me of how good ITV used to be. I think I'll be watching ITV on Wednesdays from that week!

Just like how ITV copied 'The Cruise'. Surely people will start realising they are watching exactly the same documentaries.

Another thing with the films and other daytime programmes in the 1986 schedule was the fact most of them were only replacing children's programmes and Pages from Ceefax, anyway.

What was Bag on the Money anyway? A quiz? It would probably have done better against Voice than it will if it's up against Pointless Celebrities the following week.

On the other hand, Talent will do better with a 7pm start than an 8pm one.

Bang on The Money is a new gameshow and has an 8 week run. Not entirely sure what the format is, they were only filming it at the weekend so there isn't much information yet. All I know is that it involves 2 teams competing in a mix of physical and mental challenges and is hosted by Rickie Haywood Williams and Melvin O'Doom (from Kiss FM). So putting some new faces on Saturday night, the kind of thing people are always saying networks should do more of and then never actually tune in for when they do! I assume they've just delayed it a week.

I think pulling BGT to 7pm is probably a smart move (although they'll be hoping it isn't too sunny) rather than starting halfway through The Voice but I hope they go back to 8pm (with Bang on The Money at 7pm) from week 2.

Yes, unfortunately it seems like it'll be a new series of last year's flop Play To The Whistle. I'm all in favour of giving new comedy stuff a chance (even panel shows) but not for wasting the biggest weekly lead-in they'll have all year on it two years running. It should get a lower profile slot really, but I can't see them running that many programmes in the evening (and 10.20pm would be a disaster for a sports panel show to go against Match of The Day).

I agree that ITV should be trying out new comedy (or panel shows) rather than just bringing back a flop because there's nothing else.

Although saying that, the format has to be different, not just a rehash of a BBC show.

They seem to like bringing shows back in exactly the same slot in exactly the same week as the previous year.

I don't think they'll be making the same mistake with Jerkyll and Hyde next year on Sunday's at 7PM... Then again, they probably will go and stupidly put an expensive drama there.

How has Chicago Fire been doing on 5USA?

Not sure about the 7pm start for BGT. Yes, it starts the same time as The Voice, but I think it would have coped fine at 8pm regardless of this - especially as it's seriously struggling at the moment.

In 2014, BGT went out at 7pm and we saw a reduction in the overnights. It's a tough call to be honest. BGT has always done better at 8pm in the past. Just a shame it's against The Voice Final.




lewie - just a note re. the ITV officials for this week. I've not received any numbers this week. Not sure if this is temporary or permanent at the moment. I guess all good things come to an end and these sorts of things never seem to last with ratings access. I'll keep you posted!

I think it's highly likely it'll be going out at 8 from week 2 onwards. It worked very well there last year so I would think they'd go for that again.
The clash with the Voice really isn't ideal but I think since it's unavoidable, 7pm is best. Against weak competition like Bang on the Money, Voice would have built up more of an audience and hopefully BGT can stifle that.
It's going to be very interesting. I think a 2:1 ratio in BGT's favour is more likely than some would believe.

Interesting that ITV decide to put BGT directly against TVUK when they seem to dislike SCD overlapping at all onto the XF. I am sure they wouldn't complain if the BBC decide to push SCD back a bit this year.

Been watching a prog on the Underground on C5. I am sure it was only last year that BBC did one exactly the same.

BGT might be going out at 7 as SNT has done quite well there this year

Take it Wallander will get Sundays and Midsummer Night's dream if im right is a one off so maybe May Day

Yeah it did seem too good to be true with your ratings access, ah well was good while it lasted. I have to say a huge huge huge thank you to all your efforts in posting those ratings

It's a weak, ad-riddled, preview/summary heavy programme. The one they did a couple of years back on the mainline services was vastly better.

Let's hope BARB get their act together one day and start to include HD in their ITV Top 30.
