You are a bit inpatient, they have brought in a new producer who's work hasn't hit the screens yet, what more are you expecting now?”

So ITV should do it as well. I see. That's all fine then.

BIB Ratings were dropping like a stone in early 2015, down YOY, drops over 1m and yet they still did not act. We've had poor storylines since Hayley;s death in 2014. I would have liked it if they got their act together sooner and got a new producer in quicker. As it is, Blackburn has ruined most of 2016 as well.

Is there anything that ITV does wrong in your eyes?

I don't think the 8.15m rating for Top Gear that the BBC tweeted has the final Sunday rating. A programme's consolidated rating always comes out 8 days after broadcast. So 8.15m could be Sunday and repeat ratings numbers so far.

EDIT: Nope. Definitely the Sunday rating.

I don't have any ratings for England's matches in the 1988 European Championship. Broadcast's weekly top 100 just gives the average rating for all ITV matches and all BBC1 matches shown in the same week, instead of listing matches separately. The tournament wasn't very popular. I think the highest rating was 7.95m for Republic of Ireland v Soviet Union shown on ITV on 15 June.
A few other ratings are also missing.
I have started with the 1980 European Championship and finished with World Cup 1998 as BARB's website takes over from there.

Has Chris Evans tweeted that yet?

Not surprised it dropped because of the weather, Soccer Aid and mainly that AI score of 60 last week I'd assume.

Last week's Top Gear led to the rating of last night's Top Gear. Soccer Aid would have taken some viewers but some viewers just haven't returned.

If it is true, then the Top Gear figure actually looks ok for a BBC 2 show. Lots of low numbers last night.

Given that it got 4.0m last time that sounds about right. The share was probably up on last time. The match itself will have been higher.

People did predict a drop for Top Gear without the curiosity factor of episode 1 and up against Soccer Aid, as well as ratings being generally low at the moment due to the weather. So it can't be that much of a shock.

This was never going to be as popular as the Clarkson version either, but the BBC will be hoping it stabilises soon. I am not sure what the base level would be.

It's not a show whose ratings I've followed much but I do know its unrealistic to expect a full retention of audience despite a wholesale change to the presenting team.

So the rating was right for Soccer Aid. The match itself usually gets a decent rating.
