What's the air date and time for C5 showing?
Monday 8th February at 9pm. It's expected that the C5 rebrand will go live at the same time.

Repeated Tuesday at 11pm.

I think TXF could do with a rest if only to allow the talent pool to grow again. But with The Voice around, the 'singers' will move over to that show. The current version doesn't have the joke acts, and if ITV want those silly moments, The Voice could turn into TXF with spinning chairs.
I don't think there's a lack of good singers out there - it's just whether they're doing everything they can to find them. And to be fair, I don't think the contestants in recent years have been any less talented that in previous years. It's just people are tired of the format.

I think the story is probably made up though.

I just can't understand why though. It's not like eastenders was the only programme that was repeated on the bbc if that was case fair enough, but half the shows these days get a same week repeat ?

I can understand there wasn't anywhere they could of probably shown it at a decent time the same night but a repeat the following day late afternoon on bbc2 maybe where it is all repeats anyway so it wouldn't of been disrupting anything ?
Well, it's certainly true they could do 'stEnders repeats if they wanted, but is there a decent enough audience around at teatime on BBC2? The BBC3 repeat was useful if you'd got in late, but if you miss it at 7.30 watch are the chances of you being there to watch it at 4.30? You may as well watch it on iPlayer. Yeah, you can record it, but you can record it at 7.30.

Interesting quote from that article "The TV insider said: '[ITV] will rest the X Factor for 2017 because there is no way they can run two singing contests and BGT in the same year, they cannot do it."
Interesting indeed, because I think it's pretty rubbish. In 2001 we got Popstars, Pop Idol and Soapstars in the same year. I know they were smaller scale but what's the difference? I would assume ITV would want as many of these shows as possible. They used to have Dancing On Ice at this time of year which hardly came cheap. I know you're bleeding the talent dry a bit but why should ITV care about that? You watch The X Factor because it's The X Factor, not because of who's auditioning.

I think I agree - just because its says an insider does not necessarily mean he knows what he is talking about. Although I do think if they ran XF/TVUK/BGT together over a few years they will hasten the demise of all of them.

I was thinking 5.30 pm schools, college etc finished, many people home from work, audiences are starting to increase around that time. You could catch the previous episode on bbc2 then watch the new episode later on bbc1.

Then they could still allow the "Watch" channel to have the omnibus at the weekend.

The first two episodes got 1.5 million. A little bit more than the British series got last week, actually.
Thanks Steve, much appreciated.

I suspect they might do a shortened 2 week British run next year with 3/4 weeks of the American version after it.

Key thing being that the audience for the enjoyable UK run has transferred to the US series without any problem and as they are all but identical (more similar even than the hour long European trips he does in autumn) they go together well after Christmas.

Quite serendipitous that just earlier today I was thinking to myself how much longer DOND had considering how far it's fallen. I think this has been a long time coming. I loved the show when it first started and watched it every afternoon but after 2-3 years it started to get a bit tired and it is a very repetitive game. How many times can you watch someone open a red box before you get bored?

After all those tongue in cheek tv lotto ads it must have been Noel who got the £33 million

I think the problem with having a 5.30pm repeat, on say BBC Two, would harm the programme (ratings wise). It would be up against Pointless and The Chase, two of the biggest teatime quiz shows and it would get disrupted when a sporting event comes along. The viewers would either ignore it on BBC Two, or worse, reduce the audience of Pointless.

This way the BBC hopefully boost the first showing of Eastenders and BBC Worldwide make a bit of money to put back into the BBC.

The only surprising aspect is that it lasted this long. The figures have been dreadful for a very long time now.

CBB's share looks pretty high for the rating it got. Below average audience watching TV at 9pm?

Not bad for Drunk History. I think it could grow further, with some great talent on board for this second series.

That's what I thought. It wasn't even getting those shares when it was getting the odd 300k higher.

Drunk History did quite well, I agree.

I actually think Year on, Year off would work well TV UK and XF, but they definitely contracted to three main TVUK series by 2020 (plus spin offs) so it wouldn't work anyway- I think we'll see the end of XF sooner than we think though on ITV at least unless they negotiate a much lower cost for it- It's far more expensive than The Voice despite ITV having to outbid the beeb''s 11m a series

I would be flabbergasted if the BBC bid anywhere near £11m a year to continue with the The Voice.

I did think it was a little misleading the way This Morning presented it and odd coming from someone who writes East Enders.
Hasn't she stopped writing for EastEnders?
