She is writing for Emmerdale, but no episodes gone out yet. First one transmitted next Tuesday (9 Feb) I think. Not sure if she has completely left East Enders to do so, though.

Whilst XF may be more expensive than The Voice (although I'm not sure of the terms of the ITV Voice deal) it is still cheaper on an hourly basis than an hour of drama and it makes them a lot more money than an hour of drama! It's a big brand in the way The Voice isn't especially. It is a lot more lucrative than The Voice would be if it was delivering the numbers it is for ITV right now. ITV may attempt to turn The Voice into a item brand as it can obviously be more commercial with it but I'm dubious as to whether that would work out all that well. XF has nearly double the 16-34 audience. I can certainly see the arguments for resting XF for a few years but I don't think replacing it with The Voice is the answer. If The Voice was still delivering 8m+ then perhaps but it isn't.

What's more, as we're seeing today, looks like Syco are going to tie in XF with BGT, a show they certainly won't want to lose.

I'll be fascinated to see how it all pans out.

I think the EastEnders producer tweeted a farewell thank you to her a while ago.

The 7 to 8pm Breaking News slot is replced by a show featuring the best of Locla News coverage
Victoria Derbyshire gets an extra 15 minutes starting at 9am
11am to 1 pm to be rebranded as Newsroom Live
Live programming to be used between 8pm and 9pm”

That's the end of the News Channel then

Fair enough, thanks. Maybe ITV wanted her on a golden handcuffs deal like Ant and Dec....the handcuffs will be useful down Emmerdale way, at least,

I imagine ITV will be happy with how Grease Live did, considering it was almost three hours long. I think we'll likely be seeing another live TV musical this Christmas from ITV

Fingers crossed. I would certainly love this to become a staple each year at Christmas.

Perhaps this year with the postive responce to The Sound Of Music, if they do another one it will get a better figure

Sadly this was to be expected. I'm just glad we have the channel still in some form since there were talks of either axing the channel or merging with BBC World News. Hopefully they don't have to make even more cuts since rolling news is now limited to just 11am-6pm and 8-9pm.

Am surprised there isn't more BBC World News in the lineup instead of UK rolling news.

Whats the point of repeating a programme as soon as it finishes on another channel, omg is this what it has come too ??? !!! I know the bbc are trying to money but fgs

Wouldnt they of been better of repeating news at ten ?

As for last night, good figures for Bake-Off and Midsomer. The former rose 1.5m and MM only dropped 300k. Suggests those viewers came from elsewhere.

Didn't expect it to be on Sundays, but it looks to be another great programme on BBC 1 on Sunday. I'm sure it'll be a hit.

Well, there must be some point. Have you seen how many +1 channels there are out there?

A bit confused about this. Last nights Corrie ran 19.32-19.59 therefore they should be no difference between the full slot rating or the tape-checked rating.

Using the ITV Media figure of 7,195,000 - which includes +1 it suggest the tape-checked rating of 7.15m is incorrect. If 190k watched on +1 and 7m on the original showing that adds up to 7,190,000 which is pretty much spot on. Maybe the rating should be 7,005,000 then 190k on +1 which would add up to exactly 7,195,000. Can anyone confirm? Sorry to be a pain.

Can't do this with Emmerdale as it did need tape-checking and the ITV Media number is full slot average inc +1.

Indeed. Unless a news story breaks between 11am to 7pm it will not be covered in depth by the BBC News Channel.

We're already at the point where if a massive story breaks, for much of the day, the only studio ready to go is the World news.

And there are further cuts to come in April.

Maybe they'll just drag someone in off the street to anchor a breaking news bulletin. Remember Guy Goma?
