Belgium wins 4-0 Against Hungary.

Poor Hungary. They didn't deserve that.

Good luck Wales! It won't happen but I'd love to see an England v Wales final just to see how high the rating could be

Thanks Dancc.

I thought that Newsnight special would be good for over a million. Does anybody know how it did on Friday opposite extended news on BBC1 and ITV?

That'll be a relief at least for them.

Expected, poor and great. Big +1 as per usual then. Nothing else to say.

Anything for Belgium last night?

Wowser. So it wasn't just a blip. Love Island really is pulling ahead of Big Brother.

Will be very interesting to see the +1 ratings because I imagine it will be even closer.

Healthier for Top Gear. I thought it would rise to that sort of number after the euros but not yet, so that's pretty encouraging.

Ooh, this will be the most hotly discussed outcome of last night's ratings, even though everyone knows BB is on the brink of cancellation.

Yep, they'll basically be exactly equal I reckon. 2nd time LI has beaten BB now (well excl +1 anyway). I do think BB is getting hit a lot harder bu LI and the Euro, whereas LI is just killing it. Bet C5 can't wait until LI and the Euro's are finished.

Tonight is not even go to show on the ratings screen

I have to say Salv, I think I was premature in dismissing this series of Big Brother as poorer than the last few. I've started to really enjoy it now that the stupid folly of "The Other House" has finished. There are some good housemates this series and some good storylines. I think this series deserves better ratings than it is getting.

Well, it's only happened on Sundays so far.

And on that night it appears ITV - the main channel - ran extremely old skewing and low rating repeats against Love Island the last two weeks, so it probably makes sense that ITV2 with its younger audience would capitalise a bit on that.

Maybe ITV should turn into ITV3 Extra every night over the summer just so that they can claim a victory over Big Brother on averages ?

Not likely, so it's all a bit of a nonsense really. However, there's no doubt BB is underperforming and should be cancelled.

Huge audience for Hilary Benn on BBC1's Andrew Marr Show, record 2.7m. 10x ITV's Peston, just 270,000

I don't think any words are needed really. Crikey.

I agree. It's a shame, but you can't really expect a ratings spike coming from nowhere after the previous two series. Also, if we are to be really picky (and defending poor overnights and all), shows like LI, BB all timeshift a shed load so it makes it a "bit" better, even though I know overnights are important. However, i do think overnights are become less important (someone posted an article here last week about it). a lot of shows timeshift a lot. I hardly watch anything live bar the footie, because i hate ads.

Either way, not much to say. Timeshifts for all shows come in today, and as Top Gear has also proven, you can still be a success despite low overnights.

The question is replace it with what? Big Brother pulled in double the audience of everything else last night and, whilst it doesn't have the pulling power of some of the high quality factual Channel 5 show, I assume it must skew slightly younger than that even if it isn't as young as it used to be. Channel 5 and Endemol took a risk in revamping the set this year which must have cost; surely they wouldn't have done that if they were looking to cut the format to two Celebrity specials a year?

Another year of similar declines and it might have a problem although it won't have to face either football or the Olympics next time around. I have to question why they decided to launch it just a couple of days before the Euros rather than either giving it a longer run up. Indeed, for me an excellent move would be launch it the week before Britain's Got Talent live week then air it at 10pm every night to get a leg up from it but that ship has sailed.

I do think, like ITV with The X Factor, it's time for Channel 5 to accept that, whilst not the behemoth it was, Big Brother can still do a job for them but it's now at a stage where it needs to be put first rather than being used to try and give shows a leg up. Admittedly the figures are now probably too low for that.

I'd love to know how the extended Sunday Politics did following that along with the evening Question Time.
