French TV channel M6 achieved its highest ever audience last night with 20.8 million viewers tuning in. The match had an audience share of 72.9%.

I watched the ITV coverage! Better commentators, better pundits!

But it's "only" the forth most watched football game of all time in France.

Had a quick comparison of the HD picture quality and chose ITV, too.

The panel was far better than the dull three on the BBC.

Calm down. Is it not possible Smith got this 18m figure from that same report that was discussed in here BEFORE the final about how many were expected to tune in?

Murray winning was a HUGE moment in British sport and yet still a non British final in the football beats it by millions. I always laugh when people who don't like football moan about the fact. It simply is miles above anything else in the country when it comes to consistent ratings

What was interesting about the C5 schedule yesterday was absolutely no films all day. That's unheard of on a Sunday. Back to normal next week though with an 80s marathon (Innerspace/3 Men and a Baby/Willow), so seemingly some kind of response to the day of sport on the big two.
