#BriefEncounters won the slot again this week for ITV with 4.4m / 21.5% @cplprod overnights.tv

Good week 2 hold. It's not a huge hit but if it can hold above 4 million you'd think that'd be enough for a Summer drama to get renewed.

Not as bad as giving Helen a free pass and the win!

It's much worse.

Getting rid of all the favourites with no vote and just HMs deciding is horrific.

She was just one person, and the public ultimately decided. Thank God I don't vote in this show.

Great hold, I knew it would hold above 4m.

Seriously, who on earth signs off this kind of thing? And why would anyone think this was a good idea in the first place? To recap, the plan appears to be...

Episode 3: Tonight 10pm, Channel 5
Episode 4: Tomorrow 10pm, 5Star
Episode 5: Next Tuesday 10pm, 5Star
Episode 6: Monday 25th TBC, Channel 5

If the ratings were bad before, they're about to get a whole lot worse. Got to laugh at the sheer absurdity of it.

Presumably Ep6 won't be airing at 10pm, but who the hell knows at this point.”

Wentworth Prison won't be moving back to Channel 5, the transfer to 5STAR is a permanent change, they've now apologised for the confusion caused last night.

I think the Wentworth Prison social media is run by an external agency for the DVD promoter so they must have got mixed up!

I don't mind it, it actually makes me want to watch the highlights this week so I can see who goes and how it is decided. it will be interesting to see what happens to the figures this week.

Good ratings for EastEnders, which recovered quite nicely post-Euros, 999: What's Your Emergency, which seems to be well up on the last series IIRC, and Brief Encounters, which is doing well for a drama at this time of year.

Thanks for the update. Less confusing, but still not how I'd have gone about things.

Not been posted yet I don't think, but a few Sky 1 shows to watch out for next week:

Carpool Karaoke (New Series)
Premiere: Tuesday 19th July @ 10pm
Repeat: Thursday 21st July @ 8pm / Friday 22nd July @ 9pm

Don't Tell the Bride (New Series)
Premiere: Thursday 21st July @ 9pm
Repeat: Wednesday 27th July @ 8pm

Strange Game of Thrones ratings in the w/e July 3 officials.

The 9pm showing is there, 1.323m, down a bit because of the football, but the 2am simulcast which normally gets 2m+ is missing.

Only perceived negatively on this forum really. A lot of people are liking the drama it's bringing.

Social media aren't happy either. And that was after who went yesterday, when we lose big people, there will be a backlash.

If they were going to do this, they should have done this entire format for the series as the US version does.

As expected, fell short of the 1.5m predicted in here. It seemed to lose momentum over the weekend which it couldn't regain in time.

Still narrowly a series high, ahead of last Tuesday's 1.32m. Will be interesting to see if it grows again next year. I have my doubts with no football tournament on, meaning the big two will instead be showing a range of programmes including shows that will appeal rather more strongly to 16-34 females.

But on what it's achieved this year, an absolutely fantastic performance. And much needed for ITV2 which had a bad start to 2016.

TV3 will be delighted, how does that compare with usual offerings in that slot?

I know what you mean, but I'm kind of past the point of caring now as its ending in about 2 weeks. If the series wasn't cut short and was going into August, I would be very annoyed.

Hopefully not. The Olympics won't rate as well as 2012 but certainly best keep Robot wars away from it. They only just got their fingers burnt from Top Gear getting battered by the Euros, don't repeat the mistake. There is a lot of nostalgia for Robot Wars and I'm sure a new generation will be interested in watching too. I can see it launching with quite a big rating by BBC2 standards, say 4 or 5million, with a big timeshift to 6 or 7million. It should take over the Sunday 8pm Top Gear slot where it would attract a similar male audience.

The Rio opening ceremony (12am-3am) and a lot of the events for the Olympics are on late at night UK time so it won't get the big ratings 2012 did, but we'll get the afternoon action during our primetime which should still rate very well.
