Anyway, looks like both the BBC and ITV have some cracking programmes coming up this autumn.

It's also likely Piers Morgan may film another "Killer Woman" series soon, as he will be off for 6 weeks over the summer.”

Jonathan Ross is doing another series this Autumn but after that it looks like there may be a break. There won't be the usual Winter series in 2017 at least.

Killer Women has been renewed but I can't imagine them bringing it back on air this year. He might film it this Summer for an early 2017 transmission I guess. Wonder if there will be more than just 2 episodes this time?

'Inside Scotland Yard with Trevor McDonald' is due on this Autumn however, so that could take 2 of those Tuesday slots.

I can see ITV's Autumn slots panning out something like:

Monday 9pm: HIM (x3) + Paranoid (x8)

Tuesday 8pm: This Time Next Year (x6) + other factual/entertainment
Tuesday 9pm: Joanna Lumley's Japan (x3) + other factual

Wednesday 8pm: All Star Mr & Mrs (x8) + 500 Questions (x4)
Wednesday 9pm: The Level (x6) + Tutankhamun (x4)

Thursday 8.30pm: Paul O'Grady: For The Love of Dogs (x8?)
Thursday 9pm: Victoria (x8) + Muncie (x3)

Friday 9pm: DCI Banks (x6)

Saturday 7pm: The Next Great Magician (x6) + Go For It (x8?)
Saturday 8pm: The X Factor
Saturday 9pm: Through The Keyhole (x7) + The Jonathan Ross Show (x10?)
*more like 10pm once X Factor goes live

Sunday 7pm: Celebrity Chase (x8) + Little Big Shots (x6)
Sunday 8pm: The X Factor (x16)
Sunday 9pm: Dark Angel (x2) + Cold Feet (x8)
Sunday 10pm: Newzoids (x6?)

All of those 9pm slots would then go to I'm a Celebrity come mid-November. Obviously there'll be a few other odds and sods scattered throughout as they don't all come to the same number of weeks and I'm not sure what bits they've got to fill out Tuesdays but that's roughly the sort of lineup I could see them going with. I'm not saying it's the best they could do but it seems reasonably likely.

Also with I'm a Celebrity in the way I presume they won't start Lethal Weapon until January 2017.”

ITV have got a new dating show this autumn "Meet the Parents" I could see that going in the 7pm Saturday slot maybe?

Possibly yes. I wasn't sure if that was for the Autumn or early next year, although early next year is going to be tight for space for entertainment shows anyway with The Voice, Saturday Night Takeaway, Ninja Warrior and Take Me Out so Q4 may indeed turn out to be correct.

Could go on Saturdays (with one of the other Saturday shows bumping Celebrity Chase off Sundays) or could potentially go midweek. I know Kevin Lygo wants more midweek entertainment (including at 9pm) so it could land somewhere there.

The Apprentice confirmed to start in October by Lord Sugar. Would be better in September to avoid the final getting caught up in Christmas madness.

I assumed It was for the autumn as the applications close in early September, but I could be wrong. Yes, a lot of reality tv early next year, I have a feeling the Voice will air on Sundays & Wednesdays next year as Saturdays will be too crammed full of reality surely?

I'm not entirely sure where The Voice will land. I don't see it going on Wednesdays (Midsomer Murders will be there in Jan/Feb), it'll almost certainly be at the weekends. It has obviously been a Saturday show on BBC1, but Saturday Night a Takeaway kind of obstructs that from late-February. I guess they could go:

19:00 - Ninja Warrior, 20:00 - The Voice, 21:30 - New Entertainment Show

For the auditions and then later on:

19:00 - Saturday Night Takeaway, 20:30 - The Voice, 22:30 - ITV News

But that feels rather late for The Voice to end. It also leaves no slot for Take Me Out (unless they want it at 9.30pm) which may not be a top priority but given the demos I'd imagine they'll want to keep it around. It also seems wasteful to not use The Voice on Sundays at all when that 7pm slot is crying out for it. So I think it'll be split across both nights. I think on Saturdays we'll see something like:

18:30 Ninja Warrior. 19:30 - The Voice, 20:45 - Take Me Out

For the auditions and then later on:

19:00 - Saturday Night Takeaway, 20:30 - The Voice, 21:45 - New Entertainment Show

With a Sunday schedule of:

19:00 - The Voice, 20:00 - Endeavour/Vera

For the last few weeks of The Voice when it goes live, they could either do a Sat/Sun split of the acts or ditch the Saturday shows and do a 2 hour Sunday show from 7pm (Endeavour/Vera will be done by then).

Will be interesting to see what, if anything, ITV do with The Voice format, in particular the number of live shows (originally started with six but BBC cut them to three; the most recent US series had 7)

What are they talking about? In the past few years the X Factor Results have been 8 - 9 and Poldark 9 - 10, so no clash!

Exactly, aside from the final X Factor never runs into the 9pm hour on Sundays. Bizarre article.

It also seems to be implying that there will only be 7 live shows, as there were last year, but I had assumed there would be more this year as there is no rugby so the schedule should be more normal. Given how ridiculous that article is I wouldn't take it as confirmation of anything.

These articles in the The Sun seem to always been complete bolony, and yet seem to be posted on this thread like they are in some way truthful.

That article is yet another load of rubbish.

Indeed, only seems to be based on the fact that a so called journalist has realised two shows are likely to air on the same day. We've had these 'head to head' stories before.

They tend to be posted here if they match the agenda of the poster in question, and immediately dismissed if they don't.

I wouldn't trust anything printed in that disgusting "newspaper".

And some ratings from Steve/Broadcast:

BBC 1
BBC News - 4.12m
Casualty - 3.83m
National Lottery - 3.10m

BBC 2
Dad's Army - 1.55m
Golf - 990k

ITV (exc HD & +1)
Catchphrase - 2.51m
Film: The Hobbit - 1.95m

Channel 4
Film: Star Trek - 870k
Film: Shutter Island - 460k

Channel 5
Cricket on 5 - 720k
Big Brother - 780k

BBC 4
Beck - 550k

So this week's Hobbit Part 2 premiere barely did better than last week's third screening of Part 1 (that got 1.79m exc HD/+1 and got 2.47m "all in"). I did call it last week but even so, ITV might be disappointed.

Nothing of much note across the board sadly.

The golf is rating badly both on Sky and on the BBC highlights.

Low start for the mediocre Beck and not likely to get any better for subsequent eps.

Very poor for golf. Crowds down as well.
The amount of cross promotion and hype on Sky has been incredible but perhaps there is only a very limited audience.
Be interesting to see what the figures are for the final round, live and recorded.

Exactly, the poster knew it was total rubbish but put the link here anyway.

Lots of people moaning on social media that ITV aren't showing part 3 of The Hobbit next week. However, as it was only out last year I would have thought it was fairly obvious it'll be a while before it gets shown.

I dont think that sort of film has mass appeal i dont think it will ever draw in the crowds, it would be better of on channel 4 maybe.

Good to see movies in primetime again but lets see some big popular films please.

Didn't The Hobbit finish at quarter to 11? If they wanted to make the most of it they should have ensured it finished at 10pm at the very latest.

Past TV audiences for The Open are certainly not going to be that much interested in golf.
People watched for the social element, to be part of something "British".

And, as we have seen before, that just does not travel very well...

It will probably get a couple of weeks of Bake Off lead in this year - since that is due to start later (once the Olympics have finished) and will therefore run until the end of October rather than the usual early October finish. It will interesting to see how much of the potential 10-15m figures it will be able to hold.

In the past, they've waited until Bake Off has finished to launch the Apprentice, which obviously can't happen this year, so I see no reason why they can't start it a little earlier.

Pretty bad night all around bar Casualty and Catchphrase which should be around 3.5m.

You mean the "Christmas madness" of being at the time where viewing figures are (some of) the highest?

It's perfect scheduling, The Apprentice has found a good annual slot, they should just move the hour's You're Fired in the final over to BBC so it doesn't affect the main average.
